Reiki is an energy therapy that is delivered through the therapists’ hands. The literal translation for ‘Rei’ is ‘the natural spirit’ and ‘ki’ is ‘vital energy or feeling’. Energy therapies use natural energy fields to promote health and healing. Reiki does this by raising the amount of energy or balancing the energy of the recipient. When energy is blocked or disturbed, illness can result. To enable the body to heal a free flow of energy is needed. The client can remain fully clothed during reiki but should remove shoes and the treatment is delivered lying down.£50

The ancient art of Indian head massage can be very effective at creating harmony within. It is a relaxing and de-stressing massage of the scalp, face, neck, shoulders and upper arms. The treatment encompasses shiatsu and acupressure techniques helping to relax tense areas and rebalance the body energy. Indian head massage involves working with a firm but gentle rhythm to help release blockages and ease tension. The effects are not only physical but also work on an emotional level, calming the spirit and aiding relaxation. It is useful if the client wears a loose fitting, strappy top to allow access to the shoulders and upper arms. This treatment is carried out with the client sitting in a low backed chair.£50

Swedish massage is used to improve circulation and promote relaxation. This massage uses a combination of various strokes and the pressure used can be adapted to the client’s preference. Areas of pain or discomfort can be worked on more intensely to reduce tension, while gentler strokes are used to balance energy flow throughout the body. This therapy is delivered with the client lying down and wearing underwear.
