As a former 5th grade teacher, Chris truly understands the transformational relationships that can transpire between teachers and students. It is that level of connection that is her favorite part of being a yoga teacher.
Chris’s journey started when she was in college. She took a 1 credit class and fell in love with the practice. Over the years her yoga practice was inconsistent at best until she started experiencing debilitating back pain. After a year of pills, shots and surgery that didn’t help, Chris decided it was time to take her healing into her own hands. It was at that time that her yoga practice became life-changing. Ten years later, she cannot imagine going more than a few days without practicing. Yoga is not something Chris simply does, but she considers it a tool she uses to lead a happy, healthy life. She loves all aspects of the practice – mind, body and soul and feels yoga simply helps her be her best self.
When Chris is not on her mat, she enjoys connecting with the amazing people she is fortunate to call friends and family. She also enjoys spending time with her “furry” family, loves to read, restore old furniture and binge watch Netflix once in a while (historical fiction or shows with vampires, elves or fairies). Chris also works as a Prevention Specialist for Thrive.
Chris believes that sharing her yoga and meditation practice with others has been an incredible journey that brings much joy to her life. Her goal as a yoga instructor is to guide people to a greater understanding of themselves and help them lead happy, healthy lives.
