Integrative Child Psychotherapist and Child Supervisor, supervising trainee Child Psychotherapists for the Institute of Arts in Therapy and Education where she qualified. With additional training in Dyadic Developmental Therapy, EMDR and Video Interactive Guidance.Sylvia has worked with children, families and adults for over 30 years in a variety of different roles. She has a keen interest in the impact of Developmental, Complex Trauma and Attachments and early intervention to facilitate healing relationships for children and families, utilising creativity and the arts to support children and adults in expressing and processing what is often unspeakable. Her interest is underpinned by her life experiences, training, employment and voluntary work.Sylvia has worked in the NHS in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services since 2013 within a variety of services for children and families. Ranging from Parent Infant Clinical Trials, Early Years, Post Adoption, Special Guardianship, Children Looked After, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and Care Leavers.She has also managed school counselling services within Place2Be and worked as a psychotherapist in primary and secondary schools across Inner London. Prior to training as a Child Psychotherapist, Sylvia worked for over a decade in the Homeless Sector in hostels and outreach services across the City providing mental health services to homeless young people and adults, many of whom were Care Leavers and Refugees, experiencing the continued impact of their traumatic experiences and losses, with subsequent mental health difficulties and addictions as a means to coping with their past.Throughout her career, in the background to her work in the UK, Sylvia is also Co-Founder and Trustee of registered charity, School for Life Romania. The charity currently provides supported housing for the former residents of a Neuropsychiatric Hospital for Children in Northern Romania where the beneficiaries grew up as young children experiencing privation, neglect and developmental trauma. Here Sylvia volunteered for several years in the early 1990’s which led to the founding of the charity. Services provided for beneficiaries also included special needs education for three decades until 2024, and previously community outreach. Conversationally fluent in Romanian and with regular trips to the country, Sylvia helps oversee the running of the project in partnership with sister Romanian Registered Humanitarian Foundation, Scoala Pentru Viata, that she also Co-Founded and was Committee Member of until 2006, when the project was handed over to Romanian colleagues.A keen traveller, Sylvia also enjoys immersing herself and learning from different cultures, languages and communities.

She took this therapeutic stance back into education, where she has worked in mainstream and specialist education settings across all age ranges, supporting children with a wide range of needs and focusing on those with complex presentations and trauma histories. She has over thirty years of experience as a therapeutic educator, having been a county Behaviour Support Service Manager, an interim Headteacher and Executive Headteacher, steering schools back to child-centred practice whilst leading organisational and cultural change. A trainer of attachment and trauma-based approaches for schools, she has also worked as an Education and Mental Health Manager for children and young people with autism and complex needs, and as a specialist consultant for a county SEND service. She now works in private practice as a Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) provider, delivering this Polyvagal Theory-based intervention to adult clients. As a therapeutic supervisor for TIS UK she offers a collaborative space for graduates of the TIS UK diploma to reflect on their learning, put theory into practice in the workplace and respond to the impact of this important work.

L’Abhyanga est l’une des plus anciennes techniques de massage de la médecine ayurvédique. Issu du nord de l’Inde, ce massage à l’huile chaude a pour but de rééquilibrer les énergies qui animent le corps et l’esprit en alternant des mouvements de pressions circulaires, glissées, des acupressions, des frictions et des étirements sur l’ensemble du corps. L’huile utilisée pour ce massage est une huile de sésame, préalablement chauffée avant la séance. Elle est appliquée en grande quantité afin de créer une enveloppe tiède sur le corps, favorisant ainsi la relaxation et l’exécution des gestes de massage.Le massage Abhyanga possède des effets relaxants et énergisants en stimulant le système lymphatique et la circulation sanguine; ainsi que de véritables bienfaits sur le plan psychique et émotionnel. C’est un moment privilégié, source de vitalité et de plénitude.Ce massage se concentre sur le dos, l'ensemble de la jambe (avant - arrière), les pieds, les bras, les mains et les cervicales.

Le Lomi Lomi  est un massage hawaïen. Le mot hawaïen « lomi » signifie « malaxer » et/ou « presser ». Il porte aussi le nom de « massage des mains aimantes » : basé sur les sept principes de la Huna, la philosophie hawaïenne prônant la recherche l’amour et de l’harmonie. A l’origine, c’était une pratique prodiguée par les Kahuna (guérisseurs traditionnels) très représentative de la philosophie polynésienne : un massage ayant pour but d’équilibrer le corps et l’esprit, l’intérieur et l’extérieur, le physique et le mental. Il permet au Mana (l’énergie qui traverse le corps) de mieux circuler afin de retrouver une unité corporelle et spirituelle. Ce massage traditionnel est pratiqué à l’huile chaude afin de faciliter l’exécution des gestes. Ces derniers incluent des mouvements de pression et de friction effectués essentiellement avec les avant-bras, les coudes et les mains, en effectuant des parcours circulaires le long des groupements musculaires.
