Please read: Guidelines for Indoor 1-1 Visits at Maple Park LodgeHigh Risk Exposure to Covid-19 for Residents / StaffCovid-19 Test Required, Maximum 2 Visitor Indoor 1-1 Visits Procedure: Effective July 22/20Booking:· There are no indoor visits if the resident is symptomatic, self isolating or during outbreak· The visit will take place at the designated indoor visiting area. Only 2 people will be permitted. Where 2 visitors are present both must comply as detailed below.· No drop-in visits are permitted.· Visit will be scheduled by contacting the recreation department and booking an available time slot at least 48 hours in advance. The current directive from MLTC is one visitor/resident/week in order to give every resident an opportunity for a visit.· Visiting Hours: Visits are scheduled in 30 minute time slots with time in between to allow for disinfecting all surfaces that were or may have been touched by residents or visitor.· The visitor cannot book visit using voicemail. The visitor must have visit confirmed with the recreation department to determine that the time slot is available.· The name of the resident and the name of the visitor must be provided at booking. The visitor is not to visit any other resident.· Verbal confirmation by the visitor of negative Covid-19 testing within 14 days of the visit must be provided at time of booking. Proof of a negative Covid-19 testing within 14 days will be required on the day of the visit. Day of visit:· The visitor will self screen at home for any symptoms - fever, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, hoarse voice, difficulty swallowing, new smell or taste disorder(s), nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, unexplained fatigue/malaise, chills, headache. Have you had any exposure to a close contact with respiratory illness or probable or confirmed case of Covid-19? Have you traveled internationally within the last 14 days? If the visitor has any of these symptoms, or answers YES to the questions, they should not visit. · Visitor will be provided with a surgical procedure mask at the screening desk. The mask must be worn correctly and cover the nose, mouth and chin of the visitor at all times· Visitor must provide physical proof of a negative Covid-19 testing within 14 days – electronic copy on phone or printed copy of the report.· Screener will complete the screening tool including taking the visitor’s temperature.· If the visitor does not pass screening, does not wear the face mask or does not have the proof of a negative Covid-19 test within 14 days, they cannot visit the resident.· If required, the screener will contact the RN to assist when visitation is denied.· Screener will direct the visitor to complete hand hygiene.· Screener will complete the required details of the visitor and the resident being visited on the visitor log.· Visitor will go to the designated indoor visiting area inside. The resident will be brought to the designated indoor area by staff.· Physical (Social) distance of minimum 6 feet must be maintained at all times. There will be marks to clearly indicate the appropriate distance.· No food items, treats, snacks or beverages to be exchanged with the resident or permitted on site.· No gifts or parcels to be exchanged with the resident.· There is to be no physical contact (no touching, no hugging, no kissing).· The visit will be supervised by Home staff to ensure compliance with protocols.· PLEASE NOTE: Washroom facilities are NOT available to visitorsConsequences of not following protocols:These protocols are in place to keep residents and staff safe. It is important to understand that these visits are non-contact visits (no hugging, touching or kissing). No food items, treats, snacks or beverages to be exchanged. If any of these protocols are not followed, residents could be exposed to Covid-19. Therefore, failure to follow them may result in revocation of visiting privileges. In addition, your resident may have to be placed in isolation for 14 days in order to keep the other residents safe.
