I love the sport of fencing. I take pride in helping my students achieve their greatest potential. I was the captain of the Rutgers Newark, 2 time Division III overall National Champions, 3 year Epee Squad National Champions and 3 year top 3 individual. I was top 25 in Men's Epee in an Olympic year. As a 7 year high school coach, I can proudly say I have never had a year that I failed to qualify at least one individual and at least 1 squad to the state championships. I have had many All-State Members in all three weapons, national competitors, national finalist and college students that were All-Americans. But the best is still hearing from my old students about all the fun memories that get created due to this great sport.

I began coaching around the beginning of 2020 at Masters and have been grateful to be able to work with so many students and help them find a love for the sport. Coach Jaime is a certified Moniteur D'Epee by the USFCA (US Fencing Coaches Association). This is the first certified level for the path of becoming a Fencing Maestro, the highest level as a fencing coach. Coach Jaime is in a constant state of seeking knowledge from different sources to better assist his students and their goals. As an athlete, Coach Jaime has been a competitive athlete for over 15 years at the local, collegiate, and national levels, both in the US and in his home country of Mexico. Coach Jaime started his fencing career under legendary fencing icon Barb Lynch at Morris Hills where he fell in love with the sport and has pursued fencing at a high level. He has over 12 years of experience as a three weapon coach at the local, regional, and national levels, as well as 4 years of experience as a referee in the regional and national levels.Coach Jaime's philosophy of coaching comes from the variety of international coaches he has trained under as an athlete and coach. These coaches have shaped his approach of teaching fencing and have inspire him to constantly search for knowledge in order to improve as both athlete and coach. After graduating from MH, Coach Jaime continued his fencing career training under different coaches, including: Jerzy Grzymski, Lisa Campi-Sapery, Ramses Herrera Luna, Maestro Paul Sise, and Maestro Marcos Lucchetti, to name some.As the former Randolph HS Epee coach and current PCTI Head Coach he has helped his students achieve different results, which include; County Champions, District Champions, qualified squads finish in the top 20 in the state in all three weapons, Boys and Girls teams qualified into the Sweet 16, as well as multiple top 10s in the NJ State Championships. At PCTI he continues to inspire his students to pursue fencing at the collegiate and international levels. Coach Jaime received his B.A. in Linguistics and Minor in Asian Studies from Montclair State University. He not only brings his language expertise to Masters Fencing but an assortment of fencing knowledge.

Coach Ed Cleaver is a former Wayne Hills fencer, and currently the Indian Hills High School coach for the last 11 years. Ed was a 4 year starter at the University of Pennsylvania including All Ivy honors. Ed has coached individual fencers to multiple league, district, and state championships during his 20+ years of coaching. He continues to drive his students to be their best in not just athletics but academics as well.

I've been fencing for over 15 years and found the love for the sport from watching my older sister at all of her competitions. I've been on two World Championship teams with Team USA. I have also won numerous Junior Olympic, North American Cup, National, and World Cup medals. I graduated from The Ohio State University where I was a 4x NCAA second team all-american, 3x individual conference champion, co-captain for 2 years, and head captain for 1 year. During my time at Ohio State I learned more about how to develop a program and tailor practices to different fencing styles.

I am a newer coach and am excited to help beginner fencers start their journey in the world of fencing.
