About the company

Located in the beautiful mountains of Botetourt and Roanoke Counties, Carvins Cove Natural Reserve is the second largest municipal park in the United Sates.  This 12,700 acre park's watershed and reservoir supply drinking water for the majority of the Roanoke Valley.  Low impact recreational activities such as hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, fishing, boating, paddleboarding and picnics are permitted in the Natural Reserve. There is one picnic shelter available for daily rental for small events (50 attendees or less).  Reservations are made through this site.Reservations for kayaks as well as entrance pass purchases for land-use activities and boating are made in-person at the Boat Landing on Reservoir Road.The Boat Landing is open daily except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.  • April 1 through September 30:  6:30 am - 9:30 pm• October 1 through March 31:  8:30 am - 6:30 pm

Guests can reserve the picnic shelter and purchase a pass for small weddings/events that include up to 50 guests. The $100 reservation fee includes the use of the newer picnic shelter (shown above)  and its amphitheater space for one day as well
