About the company
The SU advice team are an independent advice service for, current, Edge Hill University students only.Face to face , online (Teams) and Phone appointments are now availableAppointments are limited to 1 person only per appointment until further notice.---------------------------------------------------------We offer advice in the following fields;· Academic issues- This includes advice and support for the following;o Academic appealso EMC’so Academic Malpractice (Plagiarism/Collusion etc)o Fitness to practiceo Fitness to studyo Withdrawingo Repeating the yearo Interrupting studies o Transferring courseo Criminal conviction/DBS advice· Complaints o Course complaintso Campus complaintso Halls complaints· Disciplinary, we can support students who wish to report disciplinary issues or students who have been accused of breaching the student code of practice, eg;o Bullying o Harassmento Discriminationo Assaults o Drug offenceso Hate Crimeso Threatening behaviour· HousingWe offer advice about a range of Private Housing issues such as,o Disrepairo Tenancy Depositso Contracts o Landlord issueso Tenant Fee’so Complaintso Evictionso HMO (Houses of Multiple Occupation) Licence laws o Finding a replacement tenanto Tenants rights The SU advice team can offer advice and support in all of the above.· Student Finance Students should contact the university money advice team for advice about student finance and budgeting, Hardship fund and bursaries etc you can find out about the money advice team here https://www.edgehill.ac.uk/studentservices/moneyadvice/ o However, the SU advice team can offer advice for students whose tuition fee entitlement may have been affected by previous study. We are able to advise how you may be able to apply for extra, discretionary funding We can also attend panel hearings and investigation meetings. If you would like someone to accompany you to an investigation meeting, a DPM or a Panel hearing; Please be aware that we have a limited staff service at the moment, and appointments are filling up fast, so there is limited availability (so we cannot guarantee availability to attend). Please, also note that an adviser will only be able to attend a panel hearing if; · They have seen all relevant documentation at least 5 working days prior to the hearing (this would be); o The invite(s) to the investigation stage and/or panel hearing. o Any documentation/report relating to the concerns being investigated. o Any evidence presented by the university. o Any statement and evidence the student would want to be considered at the meeting/hearing. · The adviser will also require to speak to you after reviewing all of the above and prior to attending any meeting/hearing. Currently, due to the ongoing pandemic, we have a limited staff operating the service and Drop-in and face to face appointments are not available until further notice.
