Hi, my name is Caroline-Jamie au Imaan. I’m Tanzanian but born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. I’m an Ashtanga yogi and moved to Zanzibar a year ago, and started working at Uzima Space in January 2024.I will make sure everything regarding the studio is in order but most importantly, that everyone entering our space feels safe and seen here ???? You can come to me with all your questions, suggestions, payments or anything regarding the classes and the studio.I’ll also be the one handling social media and all of our events ????Asanteni and karibuni ????✨????

Meet Fatma, our Hatha, Power and Vinyasa Flow yoga teacher. She has been teaching at Uzima for 4 years now but for a while longer she shares her yoga love with the local community on the beach of Stone Town. She is a super storng, positive and inspiring teacher. Her practice focuses on building strength to improve the general physical health of the body. She often ends her practice with a short smile meditation which will leave you feeling light and happy for the rest of your day!

Ayda Abdalla is from Zanzibar and has been practicing yoga for 10 years. She completed her teacher trainings with Africa Yoga Project and Zanzi Yoga, and her children's teacher training with Yoga Pura Vida. She has been teaching Power Yoga and Vinyasa flow for over 5 years in Stone Town. Ayda is teaching Hatha and Yin yoga at Uzima Space and is able to offer classes in Kiswahili.

Originally from Slovenia, Kristina has lived in Tanzania for years, first Dar Es Salaam and now Zanzibar. Her Hatha yoga classes are sequenced around slow & mindful movements with precise queuing of the poses. Her knowledge of yoga shines through each of her classes through philosophy, pranayama (breathwork), alignement…offering you a time in your week to reconnect with yourself.

Rosemarie is from The Netherlands and has been practicing and teaching yoga for over twenty years. She followed her yoga trainings in The Netherlands and India. She aims to teach her students what yoga is really about. Rose will teach you to re-connect with your source, so you’ll find that unconditional love within yourself. Rose teaches Prana Yoga at Uzima Space.
