45 minutes may not be enough time for scene walk-throughs or going through multiple topics that are listed above.  So, if there are multiple subjects that you'd like to cover, then it is best to go with the 90 minute session instead.  If that's not the case, then this option might be perfect for you.

90 minute sessions are great for anyone who wants to cover multiple topics and/or topics that take awhile to cover.  This includes...

If this is your first session, then 90 minutes is ideal because it allows us to cover a variety of topics.  For scene walkthroughs, it's best to organize your network ahead of time and send it directly to tyler@cgforge.com  During this session, we can also go over a personalized study map/curriculum that makes sense for your goals.  This naturally ties into resources, challenges, and exercises that make sense for what you're trying to do. 

The difference between the 90 minute sessions and the mentorship services is that you do not receive weekly guidance, premium support, the option to have your work featured during The Weekly Wrangle/social media, help applying to jobs & meeting recruiters, and a curriculum that adapts each week to what your needs are.  There are still many things we can cover in 90 minutes, however, so it might be the perfect option for users who want more from a one-off individual consultation.

The CG Forge Mentorship program is not available to everyone.  You need to apply and be accepted by scheduling a time to meet for free (25 minutes) and filling out the questionnaire.

Here are the details:

Unlike workshops, college classes, or self-paced study, the CG Forge Mentorship program offers you a great deal of individual help while learning Houdini.  With college classes and workshops, the instructor needs to favor the group over you.  With CG Forge Academy, you are the priority instead of the group.

This includes:

90 minute lessons once a week for 8 weeks where we go back-and-forth between personalized lectures and hands-on work directly in Houdini

A customized strategy for achieving your goals

Constructive critique and specific solutions for developing your demo reel

Improving your resume

Getting in contact with recruiters and help with applying to jobs

Premium support  which allows you to send direct questions throughout the day

Scene troubleshooting, lectures, and exercises during each weekly session

Help networking & connecting with recruiters & studios for jobs

Assistance with production problems and roadblocks (for those already working in the industry)

Your work being featured on the Weekly Wrangle (Optional)

Your work being featured on CG Forge's Instagram/Twitter/Facebook pages (Optional)

Career coaching, goal setting, and advice that's designed to help you get hired

CG Forge mentorships are designed for beginner, intermediate, and advanced Houdini artists.  

The mentorship curriculum is a combination of CG Forge materials, SideFX sponsored resources, and third party videos/articles/exercises that come together to expedite your learning as much as possible.

An important part of this service may include refining/creating your demo reel, helping you apply & network with recruiters, solving specific production problems for anyone currently working in the industry, and/or adjusting your resume so that you look great when applying for jobs.  CG Forge has established relationships with various studios and can help you establish new relationships with recruiters.

Here's how it works:

1.  Apply and schedule a free 25 minute call with Tyler to discuss your goals and whether or not this service is best for you

2.  If accepted, you will be sent a link confirming your payment

3.  Then, we will coordinate a time to meet during the week for a 90 minute session

4.  You will also unlock your own private Slack channel for quick communication with Tyler

5.  We will then progress forward through the mentorship by establishing your first goals and working towards them

Slots are limited to a maximum of 5 students at a time.  When you book through this service, you will need to fill out an intake forum and schedule a free 25 minute session with Tyler Bay to discuss your goals and whether or not this service is right for you.  If your application is accepted, then we will coordinate a time to meet.
