Session Type: 1:1 Educational Therapy -  General Sessions

Focus:  These sessions are designed to provide a combined concentration in helping the client build substantial autonomy in using strategies and developing their skills within the areas of:

             - Executive Function Skills

             - College & Career Preparation

             - Study Skills

             - Social-Emotional Regulation

             - Real-World Application

             - Academic Coaching

Session Duration:  This is TBD after the intake assessment to identify each student's individual needs.  (On average: students often begin the first six weeks with weekly sessions scheduled twice a week, which last a duration of between 50-80 min).  

What to Expect:  During sessions, the student works with brain-based therapeutic interventions to build skills and develop individualized strategies based on the student's identified strengths and areas of need.  Clients often can use items in which they are currently focusing on in the school setting or within their daily lives to connect them to these interventions and directly apply them in their everyday activities to build personal growth and academic success inside and outside of the school setting.  These sessions are adaptable for in-person and online sessions per the COVID-19 recommendations.  

This service is provided in a 1:1 setting, which is scheduled by 60-minute increments at a time. 

Sessions Availability:  In-Office or Online (via ZOOM or Google Meet)

**You may schedule as many sessions in a week's time, that you feel is necessary for your student. 

Focus Area:  Similar to tutoring these sessions are designed to allow for a focus on 1 academic subject area per session.   Unlike a general tutoring session, these sessions however provide time for students to be able to participate in hands-on brain activation activities and cognitive therapeutic problem-solving stimulation, for 15-20 minutes prior to their academic coaching session.  Think of it as the brain's "warm-up", before we dive into the academics interventions and strategies.  These sessions provide clients solely with the tutorial instruction, re-teaching, modeling, and learning techniques and strategies for pre-determined academic areas of need.  

Available Subject Areas for Academic Coaching (Remember only 1 area of focus per session):

- Spelling (all grade levels)

- Writing (all grade levels)

- Reading Comprehension (all grade levels)

- Math (grades 1 - Algebra I)

- Science (grades 1 - 8; Biology)

- History (all grades)

- Reading (grades 3-8)

- Executive Function (ages 5-25)

- Test Taking Strategies (ages 8-25)

Session Type: 1:1 Educational Therapy -  Foundations (NILD) 

Focus:  This structured therapy program is for children, teens, or adults.  Sessions include a variety of structured techniques designed to address students' specific areas of difficulty and to improve their overall ability to think, reason, and process information.  Techniques emphasize basic skill areas such as: 

             - Reading

             - Writing

             - Spelling

             - Math

             - Reasoning Skills Application

Session Duration:  Sessions scheduled twice a week. every week.  Each session lasts a duration of 80 minutes.  

What to Expect:   These sessions are adaptable for in-person and online sessions per the COVID-19 recommendations.  Due to the level of structure these sessions require, when Covid-19 regulations allow for it, we do require clients to participate in in-person sessions at least 1 time every 2 weeks.  Additionally, the Foundations Program does have a small degree of parent training that is provided at the end of sessions, on occasion, to allow for clients to be able to receive the necessary guidance and support from whoever is encouraging them to use their skills outside of sessions.  

Session Type: 1:1 Coaching for 11th graders -  Undergraduates 

Focus:  These sessions are designed to provide a customized concentration and focus on each individual's post-secondary career and life goals in combination with any identified areas of need.  Whether the client knows what career path they want or whether they are still exploring their interests and need assistance in identifying the best fit career for them, these sessions are designed to help clients develop clear goals and direction, as well as put together a detailed plan of action to help them achieve their personal life and career goals.   Specified areas of focus may include, but are not limited to:

             - LifeChart© Trajectory  

             - Occupation Exploration and Career Pathways

             - College & Career Planning and Preparation 

             - Scholarship Search & Application Essay Writing Strategies

             - Personal & Career Goal Setting

            - Independent Living for Success  

            - Self Advocacy Techniques

            - Travel & Transportation Techniques 

            - Community Connection Resources 

            - Identifying Reality vs. Fantasy 

Session Duration:  This is TBD after the intake assessment to identify each student's individual needs.  (On average: students attend six to twelve, 60 minute sessions, either weekly or bi-weekly)  

**Sessions are available in-office or online (per Covid-19 limitations, when available clients are expected to attend 1 in-person session, every 4 sessions)
