For those who are on their feet all day or work at a desk, have repeated-stress injuries, experience chronic pain, or carry their tension in these areas, this massage offers direct and effective support. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, relaxation and decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance and greater flexibility. In my Swedish practice, I work with medium pressure and a relaxing pace across the whole body while focusing on specific areas of pain and tension you may have.

It is performed over the clothes, without oils or lotions. Due to its name — "shi" (finger) and "atsu" (pressure) — it's often described as a form of acupressure. But it incorporates far more than just acupressure. A Shiatsu massage will involve various techniques including gentle stretching, holding, pressing with palms, thumbs, fingers, elbows, and knees, and when appropriate, more dynamic rotations and stretches to restore or improve flexibility and joint mobility. It is great for headaches, sore backs and anxiety.

Hot stone is a deeply relaxing experience that utilizes heated rocks (typically basalt or Himalayan salt stones) to warm specific muscles and joints prior to working in those areas. It is a slower-paced, meditative journey that is very enjoyable and can be highly effective for tension and pain relief. Hot Stone will be limited to one available session per day to provide me the time required for preparation and clean-up.
