Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to treat a wide variety of complaints and to maintain well being.How does it work and what effects does it have?Acupuncture stimulates the body to heal itself. Research has shown pain relief correlates to increased endorphins in cerebrospinal fluid – showing that the body has manufactured its own ‘opiates’ for pain relief and healing. There may be changes in temperature and muscle tone. Generally there is a ‘normalising’ effect so that if a person is tense they will relax and a person who is lethargic will feel more energised. Many people can reduce or stop their pain medications as symptoms resolve. Acupuncture heals anyone, including  animals. The million dollar race horses have acupuncture as they heal faster, without drugs ( and side effects) and they love it.  Who would benefit? Just about anyone will feel better after acupuncture. She is also a Clinical Nutritionist (UNE 2003) and Clinical Hypnotherapist (Melbourne 2013) Lesley treats acute anc chronic problems such as backs, necks, knees etc., however some people have pains that standard treatments just scratch the surface of. The connection between the mind and body is fascinating.  For example, depressions or grief may reignite old, long forgotten pains. On this day you will be around the horses, riding, swimming and enjoy a local lunch at the horse farm. It is possible to combine the program with a tour to Fossil Shell Beach by car.
