Dr. Heyden started Van Engelen Medical Center in 2011 with a vision for healthcare excellence. We are a primary care clinic specialized in family medicine. Since then our team has expanded with a dietitian, physiotherapist and laboratory.Van Engelen Medical Center works with the three hospitals in Curaçao and all available specialists. We accept all major insurances. We communicate in English, Dutch, Spanish and Papiamentu.

Dr. J. Heyden

Dr. Heyden is a medical doctor who graduated with honors at the University of Havana, Cuba in 2006. Before starting her own practice she worked for five years in medical practices all over the island and was the head of the medical department at the Sint Elisabeth Hospital for one year, which she considers being a priceless experience. Dr. Heyden is a member of the CHV and the AAFP.Her focus is on family care; from grandparents to grandchildren to keep families healthy.

Ms. Montoya graduated from the "Universidad Metropolitana de Baranquilla" in 1993 as a physiotherapist. Since moving to Curaçao in 2011 she has been working to put together treatment plans, sometimes including exercises, manual therapy and electrotherapy. She is a specialist in trauma and orthopaedic physiotherapy, but also work with neurological disorders.

Dr. Perigault Monte is a native of Curacao. She started her career in the health industry in 2009, graduating from FCNH in Florida where she acquired her Bachelor's degree in science with a minor in therapeutic manual therapies. After completing her Bachelor's degree, she pursued medical training and her Medical Doctorate in Costa Rica where she graduated and later established her medical career in Curaçao as a family physician. Her vision for healthcare in Curaçao is centered on prioritizing the prevention of chronic diseases and reducing the progression of existing ones with the help of an integrated healthcare team.
