Perfect for anyone wanting to engage with the traditional craft of hand weaving on a floor loom. Your loom will be thread for you ready for your workshop in a range of colours. We have a huge stash of yarns at your complete disposal for this workshop but you're welcome to bring in any materials you'd like to experiment with.

A tutor will be on hand throughout the entire session. We encourage you to take the workshop at your own pace, there's no right or wrong as long as you are enjoying yourself. Learn the whole process of weaving on a floor loom, from dressing the loom to freestyle weaving on your own warp

This full day workshop is perfect for those wanting to expand their technical weaving knowledge. Learn to make your own warp, dress a floor loom and spend the rest of the day weaving on your unique handmade warp.

You'll learn each step of preparing your loom and how the warp and weft interact with each other in different colour and threading combinations.

You'll make a warp roughly 20cm wide and 1.5m long - perfect for a woven scarf project.

This is a relaxed beginners workshop and the equipment is yours to take home.

In our beginners tapestry workshop we will cover all the basics you need to get you started. From dressing your loom to making tassels and creating beautiful shapes and texture.

We don’t expect you to finish your piece in the class because tapestry weaving is a slow and meditative craft, so we make sure you have everything you need to carry on weaving at home.

You will be provided with a loom crafted by a joiner especially for The London Loom, needle and tapestry comb to take away with you, a printable instruction booklet sent to you after the workshop, and of course you can make use of the hundreds of yarns in the studio.

Please note that the tapestry weaving workshop in January will be 2 hours long as it was part of our old program - starting in March our Tapestry Weaving workshop will be 3 hours long.

Learn to weave on a traditional backstrap loom and make beautiful and substantial handwoven straps.

Ever since we walked through the Anni Albers retrospective at Tate Modern we knew that The London Loom had to do a backstrap weaving workshop. The image (below) of Anni and her students strapped to their looms in summer bikinis and shorts has been firm in The London Loom brain ever since and now it is so exciting to finally announce our first ever backstrap weaving workshop.

In this beginners workshop you will learn to make and measure your warp, thread the loom and strap it to you! Then we'll weave away for the rest of the workshop. By the end of the workshop you will have finished your handwoven strap to take home. You will be in awe of how hardy the straps we make on our backstrap looms are - hardy and GORGEOUS.

Choose from plenty of wool, acrylic and cotton yarns in the studio to make your strap uniquely yours. 

The workshop will last roughly four hours and includes a 15 minute break - if you can bear to part with the loom.

Our floor looms are available for children aged 8-12 at a slightly discounted price to suit their slightly discounted size. 

Children love using our floor looms as they really get a chance to experiment on equipment not available to them anywhere else. 

Our children's workshops are for 2 hours at the same time as our adults workshops so that bigguns and littleuns can all weave alongside each other.

Hate coriander? Are you a warrior or a worrier? Weave up your gene traits into a gorgeous wall hanging to display proudly about your mantlepiece next to your coat of arms.

We've partnered up with the brilliant brains of Iona at Dot One to bring you our Weave Your Genes workshop.

Make a handwoven cloth to hang proudly by your family portraits. Dot One treats your genetic code like a family tartan, by using the four building blocks of your DNA as colour ways, you'll create a piece of woven cloth to represent your unique code. Without needing to take an actual DNA test we will be predicting part of your genetic code based on your physical and behavioural traits. Focusing on 20 different genetic traits, each person's cloth will look as unique as they do!



Our class passes are for those of you who, like us, know when they're onto a good thing.

We offer a 5, 7 and 10 class pass. Each give you a great saving if you'd like to do regular sessions on our floor looms. 

The class passes can also be shared between friends or can be used in any combination of time slots (on their own, consecutively or all at the same time for a group booking).

This is a membership for those looking to focus on a month-long weaving project.

Our Weaving Project membership is like having your own loom in our studio for a whole month.

Complete your own weaving project in your own time. This membership gives you 24 hours in the studio with an ongoing project. We will keep your work stored in the studio so that whenever you come in it will be ready for you to return to.

Book hours all at once or even one hour a day if that works for you. We recommend that you book at least 2 hours for your first session to make your warp in one go.

This membership is ideal for weavers who want to plan one big piece or experiment with a series of pieces from scratch. It is also a wonderful way for dressmakers to create enough cloth for a project like a kimono jacket or tunic. We will be on hand to plan your project with you - we can consult you via email or in the studio before and during your project hours and make sure that we've calculated the correct length and width for your project.

Remember this session is only 1 hour long so you will need to add all the hours to your cart as you book - if you'd like to come in for 5 hours please select all 5 hours individually.

Using centre cane, Tabara from La Basketry will walk us through the tradition art of basket weaving. You'll leave this beginner-friendly workshop with a stunning handwoven cane tray to use at home.
