About the company

Hello. Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Roana and I provided psychotherapy and counselling services for adults and teenagers in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

I have a master degree in counselling and a postgraduate diploma in psychology. I studied counselling because I enjoy talking and listening to people, and helping them be the best they can be. I believe a little bit of kindness goes a long way and that we can all benefit from support and guidance during difficult times. A therapist is someone you can share your worries with, and someone you can work together with when you're feeling stuck - to help you face and overcome your problems.

WHY GO FOR COUNSELLING?

If you're struggling with issues in your life and can't seem to work through them or have no one to turn to, counselling may be able to provide support and guide you in the right direction.

Counselling is a confidential and safe way for a person to share his or her thoughts and feelings, and work together with a trained and helpful person (your therapist) to overcome your problems.


HOW CAN COUNSELLING HELP ME?

Counselling provides a supportive and positive environment for you to:

Express and reflect on your thoughts & feelings to find more clarity - Sometimes we are unsure of what we should do or what we want until we talk about it with someone. Talking openly with someone we trust can help us see things more clearly and make wiser decisions on how to act.

Consider new solutions and perspectives - Counselling is also about learning new behaviours, exploring new ideas, creating new thoughts, understanding ourselves and others, and developing better relationships with the people in our lives. Your therapist's job is to help you help yourself by discussing solutions or ideas with you, and helping you to set goals, develop action plans and keep track of your progress.

Talk to someone who cares - Every person needs someone in their life they can trust and talk to when life gets tough. It is important to know that you are not alone, there are people out there who can help you, and there are people who have faced similar problems. If necessary, your therapist may be able to connect you with other professionals, doctors or support groups that can help you with your specific problem.


HOW LONG DOES COUNSELLING TAKE?

Each counselling session is 50 minutes and is usually conducted on a weekly or fortnightly basis. The number of sessions required depends on the client and the issue(s) at hand.


HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Each 50-minute session costs RM125.
