Helga Fagerstrom, RSW, MSW Helga is a registered social worker with a master’s degree in social work. She has worked with indigenous youth and young adults with behavioural challenges and persons in crisis, for close to 15 years. She uses a strength-based approach to work collaboratively with individuals who are experiencing challenging situations to help them learn coping strategies. She works with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy tools for individual goal setting and Narrative Therapy as well for helping people shift from unhealthy narratives they carry about themselves to more healthy and constructive narratives, that empower clients to move forward, independently.

With my empathetic, non-judgmental and helping personality, I am able to create a safe environment for you to feel comfortable in this journey. Through my own personal experience, I know that life can be cruel, but there is always a helping hand that will guide you out of the darkest days. I highly value therapeutic relationships and believe it is the key to making the journey easier. I am here to help you build resilience, to connect with your emotions, reprocess your trauma and regain your sense of self that has been lost in your traumatic experiences. I hold two Master degrees, one in Psychology from the United Kingdom and a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Canada. I have four years experience working with incarcerated youth and applying CBT. I also have experience using other interventions such as SFBT, EFT, TF-CBT, Client-Centred approach and others. Finally, I have my training certification for clinical interventions for cPTSD such as EMDR and am biligual in french and english. Choosing to start your journey and choosing the perfect person to experience those dark moments with, can be frightening. Life’s a climb, but the view is great, and hopefully I can be the one to show you that.

Furthermore, she has participated in various training programs and congresses, ensuring she stays abreast of the latest advancements in the field. David brings a unique perspective to his journey as a counselor, having served as a treatment foster parent and a teacher within the public school system. Currently pursuing his Master's in Counseling Psychology, he is dedicated to integrating his experiential knowledge with formal training. His therapeutic approach is rooted in client-centered principles, emphasizing emotional and somatic processing. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, and Jungian and Existentialist ideas, David addresses a wide range of emotional concerns. Mindfulness techniques and trauma-informed perspectives enrich his practice, promoting holistic healing. Central to David's philosophy is the belief in the innate resilience of the human spirit and the body-mind's capacity for self-healing. He strives to create a safe and transparent environment where clients can explore their experiences without judgment.
