If you are new to Diver, this first session will give you the basic knowledge to start analysing your data using ProDiver. After this session, you will be able to do ad hoc analysis and save basic reports.

You will learn to differentiate between the different Diver file types, to analyse the information by diving and organize your data in various tabular views.

In this session we will go through the toolbar menu and console, which is the starting point in your journey to discover everything you will be able to achieve with Prodiver.

TECHNIQUES TO FOCUS ON SPECIFIC DATA

With the features shown in this session, you will learn to filter through the data you need and create rules for your report that will be applied every time you open the report, even when the data has been updated or changed.

No more creating the same report every month in Excel. You will add a layer of complexity to your reports that will allow you to have many views of reports in one saved file, as well as allowing only the information you want and disregarding the data you don't need.

CREATE A DASHBOARD USING PRODIVER MARKERS

Want to know how to create a dashboard in DivePort in just an hour?

We will go through the process of creating some markers, and using them to create a dashboard complete with indicators, graphs and images.

Once you are comfortable creating markers that show the figures you need, you can now learn how to combine different data sources into one page and create a visually attractive dashboard displaying only the information you need from each marker.



GETTING STARTED

If you are new to DivePort, this first session will introduce you to DivePort terminology, and show you  how to navigate a DivePort Portal, and how it is constructed. We will look at the Site Map portlet.  During this session, you will be able to logon to the training portal and setup your own environment, page and portlet.

ADDING DATA TO DIVEPORT

In this session you will learn how to add data to marker portlets and measures portlets. You will find out the difference between these two types of data portlets.  By creating a click action on a marker portlet, we will compare this type of dive feature with the dive on a measures portlet. You will learn how to add dimensions for the change dimension feature to enable one portlet to deliver multiple views.

You will find out how to format the display of a measures portlet.

You will cover how to add quickview portlets to allow filtering.

INDICATORS AND CHARTS

NAVIGATION PORTLETS & IMAGE PORTLETS

We will discover how to create menus using the menu portlet, and how to populate each menu option with a suitable icon. We will look at how Table of Contents portlets can offer a more sophisticated type of navigation, either a simple or a more complex type of matrix.  We will compare alternative ways of presenting the same data using more complex quickviews in ProDiver before publishing to DivePort.

We will also discover how to use an image portlet with click actions and hotspots, which can also be used as a way of navigating the portal and clicking to external websites.

PRODUCTION - BASIC

This session will cover basic Production scripting which will enable you to automate your Visual Integrator and Spectre Build scripts as well as other types of nodes, with a flow of tasks that can be carried out at scheduled times throughout the day or night. You will learn about the different types of functions that fall within the Process Objects and Control Objects menus, that will enable you to order the tasks in a linear or siimultaneous way. You will also learn how to use the scheduler engine. By the end of the session you will be able to create a simple  script that orders your VI or Spectre tasks and add it to a schedule.

In this session you will learn how to set up and organise users and their Access Control settings on the Diveline. LOOKUP MANAGER, TABLES AND FORMS

This session will start by using the Lookup Manager portlet, which allows a text file (which may be used frequently by scripts and which might need user intervention to view and edit) , to be edited via a portlet on DivePort.

You will also learn how to create a basic set of input tables with linked fields from maintenance tables and cBases, to create an example of a key table you would like to allow user entries via DivePort. You will also work on creating a form and display it as a Form Portlet on DivePort.

WHAT IS MEASURE FACTORY?

In this introductory session, you will find out how Measure Factory fits in to the Diver Platform, what it is, and what is different from the the other ways of managing and displaying your data within the legacy interfaces. You will learn about how you can automate your rules, measures and visualisations, and how Measure Factory lends itself to fulfilling all the requirements of data governance. In this session you will learn how Measure Factory interfaces with DivePort. We will cover the Matrix Portlet to show and compare multiple measures and make a crosstab.  You will learn how to set up the documentation that is built into Measure Factory for descriptions, definitions and references.  We will see the visualisations of the documentation of the Factory within DivePort. AUX MEASURES

You will learn about Aux Measures, which are part of the measure definition. The Aux Measure provides extra context to the measure. They are often used to populate extra fields on a dashboard. After an overview of what a Stamp is in comparison to the traditional method of displaying similar measures on DivePort, you will review how they are put together.  Stamps adapt dynamically to the measures chosen. You will learn how the Stamp Layout is defined in a configuration file by looking at a ready-made file, and how it is used in DivePort via a Stamp Portlet. You will find out the many benefits of using Stamps, such as the speed of building a portal, global customisation and uniform variation. In this introductory session, you will find out how DiveTab fits in to the Diver Platform, what it is, and what is different from the the other ways of managing and displaying your data within the legacy interfaces. You will learn about Spectre Technology for mobile reporting, with its own set of scripts for DiveTab. We will refresh on Workbench (if you have never used Workbench previously you will need to take some of the Workbench Training Sessions in preparation for DiveTab training) which you will be using for scripts and communication, and how to set up a connection for DiveTab.  You will also go through a refresher overview of DivePort. In this session you will learn about Areas and Pages. Data Areas hold the actual reports and define pages in the section menu. These have Direct access.  Pages can only be cross referenced. You will find out how a DiveTab file can contain Areas and Pages. We will cover how to define for which device(s) a page is designed, and whether an Area can be used offline. We will work with Basic Pages in this session, starting with Report Page, setting it up from a cPlan.

In this session you will refresh on Areas and Pages. Data Areas hold the actual reports and define pages in the section menu.  We will work with Basic Pages in this session, this time with Cross Page, setting it up from a cPlan. This type of page allows you to report on 2 dimensions and multiple summaries.

We will also cover how a simple column can expand into multiple columns. This only applies to Report, Ad Hoc and Dive pages.

In this session you will learn how a to create a Dive page from a cPlan. This is the new version of the Ad Hoc page.  We will look at available-dimensions, dimcount-dimensions, switch in list. This type of page is highly configurable and is used as a container for reusable code. We will look at the definitions for reusable code and how to make it generic. Generic code blocks can contain Charts, Tables, Grids etc

DATA PAGES - CENTRAL PAGE

In this session you will learn how a to create a Central page.  This is a page or set of pages exclusively on a single dimension. It is Free Form layout, and can be pulled from multiple cPlans, but will only display data from one dimension, that you will learn how to define. You will find out how links are automatically created from other pages. You will learn that each Central page must contain at least one cPlan and one tab. We will also cover how the Central page can have multiple tabs, and multiple screens per tab. Finally for Central page, we will go through layout and how to divide the screen using hsplit and vsplit.

In additoin we will cover Link pages. These are also Free Form layout and are referenced from other pages. They can be added to charts or column sets.

DATA PAGES - STAMPS

In order to follow this session you will need to have taken some Measure Factory Training. DiveTab stamps require Measure Factory. You will learn that Stamps in DiveTab behave like Stamps in DivePort, but they have a different configuration. In this session you will learn about the default StampBook and about a menu-area - which must appear on every Stamp-page in DiveTab. You will learn how to define your Measure Factory and use Central pages. Also you will cover defining your measures and creating stamp definitions, and Stampbooks. You will learn that how to set a specific Stambook per measure, select and apply the stamps.

This training will walk you through the set up of new Users on the SYSCO SaaS platform.
