An ECG test uses a machine to measure and record the electrical activity of your heart. The ECG is a painless test that detects heart abnormalities by measuring the electrical activity generated by the heart as it contracts and is a very useful tool for determining whether a person has heart disease. Electrodes are placed on your skin and the electrocardiograph records the electrical activity of the heart muscle and displays this data as a trace on a screen or on paper.

You’ll be asked to remove all clothing and jewelry to the waist, so the electrodes can be placed on different parts of your body. The test is quick and takes 5-10 minutes.

Typhoid fever is a serious disease and can be fatal if left untreated. Fortunately, there is a vaccine available that can protect against typhoid fever. 

The vaccine is recommended for children and adults who are traveling to areas with poor sanitation and hygiene. It is also recommended for people who work in industries that handle food and water, such as food service workers, lab technicians, and healthcare professionals. The vaccine schedule is for a single booster dose if you have been vaccinated before. This is the fee for a single dose.

If you are traveling to an area with a high risk of malaria, you will want to protect yourself. This is not a vaccine injection, but tablets that you need to take. Herpes is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV). HSV-I has been associated with oral herpes (cold sores), whereas HSV-II has been associated with genital herpes.

The GP will need to do your mucosal swab and therefore you will have an initial GP consultation. The swab test can only be performed in the presence of sores/lesions. If you have symptoms and lesions are not present a blood test could be done. In case you are unsure about what is the best option for you, it would be best to arrange a consult with our GP for further advice.
