Gaining Grace from 'Losing Face': My Story
Connecting and communicating with people is my passion. It also happens to be my specialty. I served in communications, public relations and marketing roles at Harvard University and Microsoft Corporation before starting my own communications agency, RightlySaid. I have trained leaders to face the media, and I have coached countless candidates for job interviews. Throughout this journey—wherever in the world I have found myself—my smile has come in handy. But then, in July 2018, in my third trimester of pregnancy, I get Bell’s palsy.
Suddenly, my signature smile is gone, and I am forced to face the world with an unfamiliar face, even as I struggle to do basic things like blinking, drinking, eating and talking, all while expecting my first child. For too long, I feel awful. Then one day it dawns on me that I have exactly two choices concerning my future: The first could lead to a better version of myself, and the other would leave me lost in misery. I chose well.
I combined all I had learned from my Bell's palsy experience with my expertise in connecting and communicating with others, so I could confidently face myself and the world again. I had my life back, and somehow even better! That's why I refined this process into my G.R.A.C.E Program and created this online course—the world’s first—to help YOU Face Yourself and the World with Confidence, too!
