If you are interested in competing in obedience competitions such as ANKC Obedience, Rally Obedience or IGP but don't know where to start, we can help!

Whether you are are just starting heelwork, wanting to know how to progress a skill or are tidying up behaviours, we can show you how to get competition ready! All levels of training are welcome in this class from puppies just starting foundations all the way to adult dogs that are currently competing but need help troubleshooting problems. 

Topics covered each week will vary depending on your training goals, but may include:

- Heelwork 

- Front position

- Formal recall

- Stand for exam

- Positions in motion

- Retrieves 

- Group stays/long down

- Plus any behaviours you are struggling with!

The aim of these classes is to build behaviours slowly over time in a fun way that you and your dog understand! Class sizes will be kept small to maximise the working time of each dog.

Prerequisites:

To be eligible to join this course your dog needs to:

- Be 6 months or older

- Have completed a basic obedience course or similar

- Have reliable control off lead

- Be crate trained as dogs will need to be in a crate on the field or in the car while not working

Class Length: 1 hour

Cost:

1 dog - $25 per class

2 dogs - $40 per class

- Junior handlers must be 10+ years and supervised by an adult at all times if under 15 years

You and your dog must have completed agility foundations with us or at another club or trainer to be eligible to join these classes.

In this workshop, you will learn how to execute different handling techniques to a full course. We will discuss different handling options and see which ones work for you and your dog. Courses will be novice / intermediate level.

Course Length: 6 weeks

Have you taught your dog to jump properly? Jumping is more than just clearing a bar! 

This workshop will go through a selection of grids that are taught in our popular 6 week course. We will run though how to teach your dog various jump skills including: how to jump with proper form, where to take off from when approaching a jump, how many strides to add between jumps on course and so much more.

Jump grids help to teach dogs proper jump mechanics and set them up for success in their chosen sport! From Agility to Obedience to IGP, sport dogs of all kinds will benefit from the skills learnt in this workshop.

Prerequisites:

Your dog should:

- Be 10 months or older

- Be able to sit and stay while you walk approximately 5m away from them

- Work for food and toy rewards

- Focus forward on a target (e.g. food bowl or Treat n Train machine)

Agility foundations is a 6 week introductory course for all things dog agility! Foundations are at the core of any sport and this course will focus on key training concepts that will make teaching the more advanced skills a whole lot easier. You and your dog will learn how to engage with each other through a series of fun agility games. 

This course is designed to be taken multiple times, so if you have a young dog or feel like you as the handler need to learn more before moving into more advanced agility skills - this is the course for you!

Note: If your dog is under 10 months old, any exercises involving jumps will be done with puppy bumps or no bar at all for their safety.

Prerequisites:

To be eligible to join this course your dog needs to:

- Be 6 months or older

- Have completed a basic obedience course or similar

- Have reliable control off lead

- Be crate trained as dogs will need to be in a crate on the field or in the car while not working

Course Length: 6 weeks
