If your Primary or Secondary School is within 50 mins of Newbury I can get to your school in person for a Free School Author Visit."Telling Stories" CREATIVITY BOOST 45-60 mins whole year/hall events for Year 7 or 8 Secondary Schools and Years 4 to 6 Primary. A hyper-engaging audience participation hall event designed to get students excited about creating stories and creative writing. This is rocket fuel for imaginations and creativity with a focus on free writing for pleasure and the importance of story telling in everyday life. Requires powerpoint/screen. For 60 to 600 students. Free Creative Writing Workshop - 45-60 minute sessions for up to 60 children at a time. Years 3,4,5,6 and 7! I can do up to 2 sessions per visit Larry Hayes’ Creative Writing Workshop is a hyper-interactive session in which the whole group creates (and acts out) a unique new story. We first explore what stories/books/movies the children enjoy and what makes them good. Having established some common themes we create interesting characters and choose children to play heroes, baddies, sidekicks and mentors Together as a group we create and act-out-in-real-time a live action story with opportunities for everyone to get involved making decisions and shaping the story. We discuss what worked well and areas for improvement with the option for children to write a new (improved) version in a later lesson with the teachers.
