About the company

On June 6 - 7, 2019, aspiring and established writers, agents, editors, and publishers will converge at the 4th Annual Rutgers–New Brunswick Writers' Conference! Enjoy keynote presentations from Billy Collins and Jane Smiley, choose from concurrent sessions across six tracks, meet individually with agents, editors, and publishers, join a panel discussion on publishing options and attend an evening reading event featuring famous authors. Our one-on-one meetings give you the opportunity to meet with agents, editors, publishers, and marketing professionals. Agent, editor, and publisher sessions are 10 minutes long and is a chance for you to discuss your work or any publishing questions you make have. Marketing consultations are 20 minutes long and a great opportunity to learn how to sell your book

Third conference: better every year

This year’s conference was my third, I am so pleased to have been in on it from the start. Every year gets better. The speakers, the topics, pitch-a-palooza, the publisher/agent luncheon. I learned something from every session, I had excellent meetings with one agent and one publisher, the author reading and signing event was delightful, I made a new friend and met up with a friend from last year, the open mic was fun. A former attendee posted a general suggestion for everyone to go for it and enter the contest. I did and was totally blown away to win that third-place prize! A validation every writer craves, thank you so much. The food – I could do an entire paragraph on the food. It may seem like a small detail to some, but it is very important to keep attendees well fed and hydrated. Please keep that caterer. I am wondering who won the pitch-a-palooza? Very much looking forward to next year, January registration is marked on my calendar in bold letters.

Each year better than the last

I really enjoyed this conference. You've managed to keep an academic feel while allowing for spontaneous networking and on the fly learning opportunities. I can't wait for next year.

Extremely Meaningful Conference!

I was overjoyed to have the opportunity to listen to Alice Hoffman and Chris Bohjalian, two favorite authors talk about their writing life and pass on their tips. The workshops on getting published were spot on useful, and the food and comfort of the place were perfect! I am a fan and will recommend to all the writers I know!

Great Conference

I had such a wonderful time at this year's conference. Not only were the speakers entertaining and knowledgeable, but I also enjoyed interacting with the wide array of authors attending along side me. Can't wait until next year.

Terrific Conference!

Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity to mingle with writing professionals, established authors, and my peers. I made some great connections and enjoyed the learning sessions. A very well-put together event. Count me in for next year!
