Sunderland Lions Community Theatre
About the company
The Sunderland Lions Community Theatre (SLCT), which currently showcases youth from ages nine to eighteen, began with a retirement ‘dream’ and proposal to the Sunderland Lions Club by Deborah De Jong in October of 2014. By January of 2015 preparations were well underway for our first production of Annie Jr. in November of 2015 at the Sunderland Town Hall.Since that time tremendously talented production teams of this volunteer-based organization have enthusiastically collaborated to embrace every production with sincere dedication, donating countless hours to produce impressive and exceptional shows. With the committed endeavours of SCLT Production Teams, many volunteers and the support of the Sunderland Lions Club, the Sunderland Lions Community Theatre provides enriching opportunities for the development and growth of the ‘performing arts’ for our town of Sunderland and the surrounding area. Appreciation and support of our high calibre productions are expressed by our community with avid interest and sell-out performances as our amazing casts share their wonderful talents against the backdrop of elaborate sets to the outstanding accompaniment of live music.
