You will not need to go to Chicago. During your appointment, we will collect your application and supplementary documents and do the initial processing. As part of this procedure, we will also collect your biometric information. Because of this, you will need to bring all your materials with you. We understand that the procedure requires a significant commitment on your part, and so we try to work with you during the process. So, please understand that when we ask questions or inform you of a particular requirement, we are not trying to make things more difficult for you, but are trying to save you costly and time-consuming problems later on. We will be happy to perform a legalization (beglaubigung) for you. Please call us in advance to make sure we are authorized to legalize your document as there are some things which we are not authorized to legalize. Please be advised that: 1) You will need to bring valid, government issued, identification 2) Do not sign the document ahead of time 3) For some documents, there is a fee involved. This is payable by cash, check, or credit card. 4) Unfortunately, we do not have any documents or templates available for you to fill out (e.g. for an inheritance disclaimer). We recommend contacting the person (or organization) requiring the legalization for a template for you to use.

Half-day (4 hour) mediation $500 per side which includes a $100 reservation fee due and payable as follows:

            1. The mediation/arbitration reservation is not confirmed until all parties have paid the non-refundable reservation booking fee.

            2. When the mediation/arbitration is initially reserved, all parties will receive an invoice for the reservation fee that must be paid per the invoice.

            3. If the reservation fee is not paid per the invoice, the reservation will be removed from the calendar and that date will be available for someone else to use. 

            4. The reservation fee is applied to the cost of the mediation/arbitration. 

            5. The balance of the payment for the full day mediation/arbitration is due fourteen (14) days prior to the mediation/arbitration date. The mediation/arbitration is cancelled if the balance due by any party is not paid fourteen (14) days prior to the mediation/arbitration date. In addition, this office keeps the non-refundable reservation booking fee.

            6. Another reservation fee is required if a party reschedules the mediation outside fourteen (14) days from the date of the mediation.

            7. After payment in full is made, you will receive a refund of $200 if the mediation/arbitration is cancelled/rescheduled by any party between 13 to 7 days prior to the date of the mediation/arbitration.

Full day (8 hour) mediation $1200 per side which includes a $300 reservation fee due and payable as follows:

            1. The mediation/arbitration reservation is not confirmed until all parties have paid the non-refundable reservation booking fee.

Per Chapter 151 of the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, with agreement of all parties and approval by the elected trial judge, a special judge hears and disposes of all contested issues presented. The final judgment may be appealed as any other judgment of a district court. Cost is $1750 PER SIDE PER 8 hr DAY and due prior to services rendered. The cost of this service INCLUDES the time for the court reporter, but not the cost of a transcript.
