Um teste de antigénio (TRAg) profissional é um método de diagnóstico rápido que detecta proteínas específicas do vírus SARS-CoV-2, causador da COVID-19. No dia e hora marcados deve dirigir-se à Farmácia e seguir as instruções do profissional de saúde que irá realizar o teste. O teste consiste na introdução de uma zaragatoa nasofaríngea ou nasal na cavidade nasal, para recolher uma amostra de secreções. A zaragatoa é depois colocada num dispositivo que contém um reagente que reage com o antigénio do vírus, se este estiver presente na amostra. O resultado é indicado por uma linha colorida que aparece numa janela do dispositivo, em cerca de 15 minutos. O resultado pode ser positivo, negativo ou inválido, dependendo da presença ou ausência do antigénio do vírus e da qualidade da amostra.
