This is a combination class which begins with 20/30 minutes of breath focused slow gentle concious movement (gentle hatha yoga). This is then followed by Yin and Restorative poses .- a very quiet meditative practice of yileding,surrender and release. The yin poses are held anywhere from two to seven minutes and work with the energy meridians in your body to help increase flexibility, improve joint mobility and a gradual quietening of the min. The restorative posestowards the end of the class us a lot of suppports (cushions and blankets, sandbags and eye pillow) and are held for 10-15 minutes each. The idea of this class is to move progressively more slowly into deeper and longer holds of poses into a state of allowing and yielding withdrawing the senses inward to a place a deep rest and peace in body, mind and spirit.

Jivamukti Open Class welcomes practitioners of all levels. You work at your own pace, following the teacher’s verbal as well as hands-on guidance. Asana options will be provided for beginners, intermediate and advanced students.
