Instructor Interview

I greatly appreciated the professionalism and constructive interview process set up by the Fairfax Collegiate and their staff. Not only was I able to express my interest with the group and my experience, but I was given ample time to demonstrate my skills in a mock environment of a classroom. What was most helpful, however, was that I also received pointers on how to better enhance my skills which I greatly appreciated.

Instructor Interview

The application process was thorough and easy to understand. Communication was great and I felt like I was able to demonstrate by experience/abilities. I especially appreciated receiving helpful feedback on my mini lesson. Everything went very smoothly. Thank you for the interview!

Great Interview

The interview was thorough. It allowed to discuss my prior experience and show my teaching style with the 5-minute lesson. The feedback for the lesson plan was constructive and helpful; clearly, the interviewer Scott Kenkeremath knew how to successfully shape lessons for a wide range of subjects. Overall, the interview was professional without being too intimidating.

Thank you for the interview!

I interviewed with Scott Kenkeremath and overall felt the process was very helpful to let me know what to expect, and help me demonstrate my availability as well as skills. I appreciated the feedback on my lesson plan. My only critique would be to let interviewees know ahead of time what materials are available to them (such as the whiteboard I did not know about until arriving) and also give them some more guidelines about what is expected of the lesson plan!

Friendly & Informative!

Even though I arrived a couple minutes early, my interviewer was nice enough to let us start right away. The interview itself was relaxed and positive, and the interviewer answered every question I had and gave really good tips to improve my mini-lesson. Overall, a really positive experience!

Dear Fairfax Collegiate, Thank you so much for the interview! I actually arrived late because I went to the Herndon summer camp location rather than your Herndon office, but the interviewer (James Miller) was very understanding and still held an interview with me. I have one small piece of feedback regarding the sign-up process for the interviews: I was a little confused by why there were two interview slots, so I would've appreciated an explanation for that. Otherwise everything went very smoothly. Thanks again, Frank

Interview Feedback

The interview went very smoothly and started right on time. I did not have to wait long and I got very helpful advice regarding my teaching skills.
