Training for your Dog. Hope for a Hero.
When you utilize our training services, you are helping a veteran or first responder receive a lifesaving PTSD service dog. A portion of every training dollar spent goes to our PTSD service dog program.
Got Your Six Support Dogs is already known throughout the Metro-East for training top-quality service dogs for veterans and first responders with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and therapy dogs who provide comfort to people in the community. Got Your Six Support Dogs believes mental wellness should encompass both humans and canines. Because of this philosophy, we are expanding our services to provide training in obedience and other skills for your pet.
At Got Your Six Support Dogs, we know humans and canines must be able to understand each other in order for learning and to occur. What many people interpret as "problem" behaviors are in fact a dog's attempt at communication. We want you to have a relationship with your favorite four-legged friend that brings peace and balance to your entire household.

My name is Rachael Wright and I am a graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have been training dogs for the past 3+ years. I started training service dogs as a college student for the country’s first college service dog program, Illini Service Dogs. Since then, I have effectively trained service dogs, therapy dogs and dogs of the community by quickly providing solutions to their needs. I avidly pursue continuing education and professional development by regularly attending seminars and reading current literature. When not helping clients to enjoy easier lives with their canine companions, I love spending time with service dogs in training and my personal dog (Chief) as well as teach at Collinsville High School during the school year.

Ashley has always had a passion and love for animals. All 4 years of HS she volunteered at her local SPCA helping with basic obedience classes offered to adopters as well as adoptions and general care of the animals.
Ashley went on to earn her BS in Equine Studies with a minor in animal nutrition. She trained and gave lessons for over 15 years. With her husband in the military they moved around a lot so after moving to Illinois she wanted to combine her skills and decided to go back into dog training. She joined Got Your Six, because she loved that the organization was veteran friendly and gave back to the community. She trained under two certified trainers as a service dog trainer and also helped out training therapy dog classes when needed.
Ashley has currently trained 4 service dogs that have been placed by the organization and is finishing up her 5th to be placed. She is always working on continuing education to master her skills as a trainer.

Phillip has always had a love for dogs showing as a teenager when he was training dogs for bird hunting. As much as he loved working with the dogs, he felt the call to enlist and serve our country.
Phillip was deployed to Iraq three different times. He was injured during his last deployment and eventually medically retired from the Army. Phillip is a true serviceman and he had not fulfilled his need to help others. During his search for the next career path in his life he was referred to Got Your Six Support Dogs for a service dog of his own. This is where he met Ranger, definitely the right match. They were made for each other and Phillip knew then what the next chapter in his life would be.
Phillip has been with the Got Your Six Support Dogs team since 2017. He became an apprentice trainer in July 2019 and has been training service dogs full time since then. Phillip is eager to learn but would very much like to teach others to communicate with and enjoy their own dogs.

Megan has over 26 years of training dogs and their owners professionally. She has attended several professional dog training schools conducted by experts in the field of dog behavior and training. The Tom Rose School for professional trainers, Ttouch training and Karen Pryor Academy. She also has her CPDT from the certification counsel for professional dog trainers. This experience allows her to draw from a large variety of tools and techniques. Megan has taken the time to study and attend seminars and workshops that focus on the human end of the leash. She enjoys continuing her education by attending various national/regional conferences and seminars on all aspects of animal and human training and behavior. Megan joined Got Your Six Support Dogs in the Summer of 2019 and states that this has been one of the most rewarding times in her career.

Got Your Six Support Dogs offers therapy dog training classes for individuals who would like to volunteer in their community with their four-legged friend. Therapy dogs are trained dogs that offer comfort to individuals in a variety of settings, including nursing homes, hospitals, schools, courthouses, etc.
n order to partake in our therapy dog training classes, your dog must meet the following requirements:Your dog must be at least a year old.Your dog must pass both a basic and intermediate group class.Your dog must be able to pass an AKC good citizen test.Your dog must be able to pass our evaluation and temperament screening.In addition to passing the screening, dogs must then meet the following requirements to become certified Got Your Six Support Dogs’ therapy dogs:Attend our therapy dog class. (Our therapy class is ten hour-long/once a week sessions. The cost is $150 for the entire class.) Participate in ten supervised visits with a senior therapy team member Pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test and the AKC Community Canine Test. (Tests are conducted the 5th and 10th week of the therapy dog class.) Fill out all of the required paperwork and pay the $100 supply fee. (This fee covers the cost of the dog’s vest, identification badges, and initial order of 250 trading cards.

Over the course of 20 business days, your dog learns from one of our expert trainers. Their training program is completely customizable to meet your needs. With our convenient drop-off and pick-up times, your dog can stay with us while you're at work!
