About
Jana is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is passionate about helping people alleviate psychological distress, overcome personal difficulties, and live a happier and more satisfying life. It is important to her that her clients feel accepted and safe. Her work is based on the values of respect, trust, tolerance, fairness, freedom of choice, and honesty.
Jana’s psychotherapy model is integrative. She tailors her approach to each client’s individual needs, drawing on insights and concepts of various approaches, particularly Person-Centred, Existential, Compassion Focussed Therapy, EMDR, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. At the core of her approach is a genuine, non-judgemental, and compassionate attitude.
Some of Jana’s clients have experienced mental health difficulties including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. Others have required support facing life challenges, for example difficulties with personal relationships, dealing with abusive relationships, loss, and stress. Jana’s specialist interest is in working with low self-esteem and related issues such anxiety, depression, and trauma.
