Patrick Seifer taught in China from 1990 until 2019. He taught Oral English, Basic Writing as well as IELTS Writing, grammar, reading and Business English. He currently lives in Winter Garden, Florida, near Orlando, Florida. He has a Bachelor’s degree in French and English. Before going to China, he taught high school and was a track and field coach. He received his MA in TESOL from Azusa Pacific University in 2002. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter as well as friends playing board or card games. He is currently teaching ESL to adult immigrants in the Orlando area.

Kathryn Seitz is currently living in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and has been teaching since 2016. She has taught general English language courses, blended English-Spanish courses, and a variety of art classes. One of her favorite things about teaching English is that she gets to share her love of learning with so many wonderful new people. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, reading, hiking with her dog, and visiting the beach.

Sydney Bassett is currently living in Auburn, AL and has over ten years of teaching experience.  She has taught everything from beginner oral English to graduate level writing courses.  Sydney’s favorite thing about teaching is connecting with students and helping them achieve their goals.  In her free time Sydney enjoys working on projects around her house, gardening, and listening to podcasts. 

Shannon Horn De Hernández is from Ohio, but currently lives with her husband in El Salvador. Having received her Masters in TESOL, she has taught ESL for over five years and specializes in pronunciation and cross-cultural communication. Shannon loves nature, hiking and riding horses, but also enjoys trying new food and playing board games with friends.

Martha Ports currently lives in Hastings, Michigan, a small town in southwest Michigan.  Martha has a total of 17 years of teaching experience in a variety of settings.  She has taught high school English, at a university in China, and at a community center in Chicago’s Chinatown.  Most recently, Martha has been working in the nonprofit field as the Executive Director of a homeless shelter.  She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in English Education, and has a TEFL certificate. She enjoys playing with her dog, cooking with her husband, and gardening in her free time. 

Katie Walthour is currently living in Chicago, Illinois. She has a bachelor’s degree in TESOL and has been teaching English for over 2 years. She has taught Beginner and Intermediate Adult Conversational English classes both in Cambodia and in the city of Chicago. She enjoys reading books, making (and drinking!) coffee, and exploring Chicago with friends.

Carrie is currently living in Chicago, IL and has been teaching in China for the last 7 years. She has taught Oral English, Speech, Debate, Cross-Cultural Communication, Teacher training Seminars and led multiple book clubs. She has a Bachelor's degree in TESOL and Master’s in Applied Linguistics. She loves reading, baking, being with friends and eating Chinese food.

Charlsie Haire is from Mississippi and currently lives in a very small town there with her two dogs, Honey and Hazel. She has had the pleasure of teaching Speaking and Listening, Extensive Reading, English in the Sciences, Oral English, Grammar, and Writing to English language learners at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels throughout the past eight years. She also taught First Year Composition courses to both American and international students for four years. Her teaching career has spanned a few different locations: Hebei Vocational College of Foreign Languages (Qinhuangdao, China), Northwest Community College (Mississippi, USA), North China University of Technology (Beijing, China), and the University of Mississippi (Mississippi, USA). One of her favorite things as an English teacher is seeing her students gain confidence using the language; she can't wait to journey alongside her new students as they do that! In her free time, Charlsie enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her dogs.

Jeannie is currently living in Lansing, Michigan, home of Michigan State University. She has been teaching English to non-native speakers in China and in the United States to students from all over the world (i.e. Brazil, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and India) for seven years. She has taught Intercultural Communication, Pronunciation, Reading and Writing, Social Media Listening, and Speaking. She has a Master’s Degree in TESOL. 

What she loves most about teaching is seeing her students learn through interacting with her and their peers. She also enjoys learning about her students’ culture! When she is not teaching, she likes to travel and discover fountains in any new historical place to get a picture with it! She also loves to go on walks with friends and drink bubble tea, especially 红糖奶茶 !
