I love to help people gain skill and confidence on the road to true fluency!

Hello, my name is Catherine Matson, and I am the owner and teacher at Your Time for English Fluency! I look forward to meeting you!
I am an experienced, native English language tutor from the United States, with an easy west-coast accent and attitude (think California, Hollywood, San Francisco!). With 20 years of experience, I have worked with over 1700 students from 24 countries to improve conversational English skills, polish professional demeanor, prepare professional and academic presentations, prepare for study abroad, take the IELTS and TOFL tests, get ready to work abroad, apply for visas, and just for travel. If you are a serious student of English with a passion for speaking English beautifully, I can help you. Speaking consistently with an experienced tutor, who is also a native speaker of English, is THE most powerful tool for building fluency!
My goal is to make learning, and improving fluency, fun and interesting. It gives me great joy to watch a student gain confidence and attain advanced fluency. I aim to help my students professionally and in their daily lives, lowering the stresses we all experience when speaking our second language (I do too!), and increasing the sense of competence and ease in daily communication.
I teach English to a wide range of professionals from physicians, scientists, businesspeople, teachers (many who are English teachers!), dental surgeons and even a diplomats and politicians! Some of my students are here just for personal development or are simply frequent travelers. I love to work with University students, motivated high school students, young mothers, retired people who want to travel, etc.
I have been a teacher, a traveler, and an entrepreneur. I have lived in Costa Rica, Mexico, Hawaii, Canada, California, Arizona, New Mexico and now live in the spectacular State of Washington on the Olympic Peninsula! I love communication and languages. I have worked in advertising and am a writer. I am a businesswoman doing business worldwide. I love nature, hiking, camping, traveling, animals and meeting and getting to know people. I look forward to working with you!

You can book this Introductory Session by itself, or book alongside one of our three Class Packages (because fluency takes time and regular use, I encourage you to commit to a block of lessons to build your skills and confidence.
