The Undergraduate Student Legal Aid Office provides free assistance to currently-enrolled full-time University of Maryland undergraduate students. Funded by the Student Government Association, the Student Legal Aid Office has been assisting university students with legal questions since 1976. Legal services are categorized into two types: students with general legal questions and students seeking assistance regarding university charges. Please choose the correct type of service that you need in order for us to best address your specific issue.
For Legal Advice, appointments can be made Monday through Friday.
For help with University Charges, appointments can be made Monday through Friday.
Additionally, we can only provide services to current University of Maryland undergraduate students. Please bring all important documents with you and your student ID.

Student defenders are undergraduate students who have completed specialized training with the Student Legal Aid Office. They are paid employees, and their sole function is to provide advice to and represent students who are facing university charges. If there are no available appointments during your preferred time, try making an appointment for the other Student Advocate Appointment Slot!

University Charge Assistance - Student Advocate
Undergraduate students facing charges from the university can seek assistance from Student Advocates employed by the Undergraduate Legal Aid Office. Student Advocates are specially trained to answer your questions and act as your representative at hearings, should you want them to. Charges can fall under any of four categories: Academic Integrity, Student Conduct, Rights and Responsibilities, and Title IX.
