A brainteaser is a type of riddle that makes one think outside the box. Some brainteasers are easy, some are a little harder, and some can really make you ponder for a while. Often, when you finally hear the answer, you feel ignorant or silly, because it should have been obvious to you. However, brainteasers are fun. Therefore, we keep testing ourselves and hoping we get better at solving them. This class time will be spent solving some brain teasers as a group as well as individually.

The Millicent Library is now open at our regular hours. No appointment is necessary for computer use or browsing. If you would like to reserve a time to use a computer you may do so through this site. We strongly encourage patrons to wear masks while in the library as children 12 years and younger are not yet able to be vaccinated.

Please be considerate and cancel any notary appointments at least 12 hours in advance. Please bring all original documents and indicate how many documents are to be notarized. If there are more than 5 documents, please call the library to make special arrangements. Notary services are free for up to 10 notarized documents per family, per month. $1.25 per notarized page will be charged thereafter. Please note that some documents require witnesses. The library does not notarize real estate documents, but we do notarize last wills and testaments, powers of attorneys, health proxies, etc. All of these require witnesses. Library staff cannot be a witness to notarized documents. You MUST bring your own witnesses. Please refrain from asking other patrons to act as witnesses, as it can be disruptive.

The Morrill Memorial Library is authorized as a US Passport application acceptance facility; service is by appointment only. Adult Passport (16+): $130 Minor Passport (under 16): $100 Adult Passport Card: $30, Minor Passport Card: $15 (not valid for air travel) Processing Fee (all applicants): $ 35 Special Fees: Expedited Service: $60 Passport Book Overnight Delivery: $21.36 What do I need to bring with me to the library when I apply? Completed Form DS-11 printed or filled out in black ink. Do NOT sign your form before the appointment. Valid identification: usually a driver’s license or previously issued valid passport, but also Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship, US Military ID, or government employee ID. ID must have an identifiable photo. If applying with a minor (under 16), both parents must be present and have valid identification. If both parents can not be present, additional documentation is required. Minors ages 16 and 17 may submit their own identification or have one parent present to present with valid identification. Evidence of US citizenship: usually an original or certified birth certificate (no photocopies), original Certificate of Naturalization, or previously issued passport. Passport photograph of each applicant. The library is not equipped to take passport photos. Local options include CVS, AAA, Staples, Rite Aid, Walgreens. Payment to the US Department of State must be check or money order, with a separate check for each applicant. The $35 Processing Fee may be paid to the library with cash, check, or money order made out to the Morrill Memorial Library.

Our free Notary service at the main library offers Acknowledgements by appointment only. For other Notarial Acts, ask the Notary Public staff members what will be possible. Bring your state-issued photo ID or passport, and your completed documents.

Motive und Schriftzüge können auf unterschiedliche Materialien geschnitten, beschrieben oder bemalt werden.In der Veranstaltung zeigen wir, wie eigene Projekte mit dem Schneidplotter gestaltet und geschnitten werden. Du bekommst eine gründliche Einweisung in die Funktionen und Benutzung des Schneidplotters. Gerne kannst du zur Veranstaltung deinen eigenen Laptop mitbringen. Bitte achte darauf, dass auf diesem die kostenfreie Software "Canvas Workspace" installiert sein muss. Im MakerSpace arbeiten wir mit dem Schneidplotter "Brother SDX1200". Sie können ein Stück Holz gravieren, Ihren Schlüsselanhänger personalisieren oder Plexiglas in eine gewünschte Form schneiden. Mit unserem Lasercutter xTool P2 sind unterschiedliche Bearbeitungsmöglichkeiten vorhanden. Der Geräteführerschein macht Sie mit der Funktionsweise vertraut. Durch eine Sicherheitsabdeckung und einen Luftfilter ist eine gefahrenlose Nutzung in Innenräumen möglich. Gerne kann ein eigener Laptop mitgebracht werden, auf dem die kostenfreie Software "xTool Creative Space" bereits installiert sein sollte.
