Her interest is underpinned by her life experiences, training, employment and voluntary work.Sylvia has worked in the NHS in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services since 2013 within a variety of services for children and families. Ranging from Parent Infant Clinical Trials, Early Years, Post Adoption, Special Guardianship, Children Looked After, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and Care Leavers.She has also managed school counselling services within Place2Be and worked as a psychotherapist in primary and secondary schools across Inner London. Prior to training as a Child Psychotherapist, Sylvia worked for over a decade in the Homeless Sector in hostels and outreach services across the City providing mental health services to homeless young people and adults, many of whom were Care Leavers and Refugees, experiencing the continued impact of their traumatic experiences and losses, with subsequent mental health difficulties and addictions as a means to coping with their past.Throughout her career, in the background to her work in the UK, Sylvia is also Co-Founder and Trustee of registered charity, School for Life Romania. The charity currently provides supported housing for the former residents of a Neuropsychiatric Hospital for Children in Northern Romania where the beneficiaries grew up as young children experiencing privation, neglect and developmental trauma. Here Sylvia volunteered for several years in the early 1990’s which led to the founding of the charity. Services provided for beneficiaries also included special needs education for three decades until 2024, and previously community outreach. Conversationally fluent in Romanian and with regular trips to the country, Sylvia helps oversee the running of the project in partnership with sister Romanian Registered Humanitarian Foundation, Scoala Pentru Viata, that she also Co-Founded and was Committee Member of until 2006, when the project was handed over to Romanian colleagues.A keen traveller, Sylvia also enjoys immersing herself and learning from different cultures, languages and communities.

My career has included specialist roles within the NSPCC and NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), where I spent five years as Trauma Lead supporting both families and multidisciplinary professionals working in highly complex and emotionally demanding environments. I also spent three years as the Early Intervention Lead within the NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). In 2015, I founded Pathways Therapeutic Services with a vision of supporting more families using a compassionate, trauma-informed approach and meeting mental health needs in a holistic and more accessible way, not only for children and families, but also for the professionals dedicated to helping them heal. Whilst I have spent decades working with those with mental health difficulties and neurodevelopmental challenges (and the teams around them), I have a special interest in (and have dedicated most of my career to) understanding the impact of trauma, attachment difficulties and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and helping individuals and systems move towards resilience, connection and recovery. It was my privilege to be the Clinical Supervisor for the North Wales CAMHS In-Reach Service for a number of years. This service supported educators in meeting the mental and emotional health needs of children and young people across North Wales. Over the years, one thing has remained central to my work: the belief that when practitioners feel supported, contained and empowered in their work, the positive impact extends far beyond the supervision space. It creates meaningful and magical ripple effects for children, families, organisations and communities. The professionals who hold children’s stories every day (therapists, educators, social workers, nurses, doctors, pastoral teams, TIS practitioners and many more) need reflective, psychologically safe spaces too. Spaces where they can think, process, feel supported, gain ideas or knowledge and reconnect with the purpose behind their work. This is why I am so passionate about providing reflective and clinical supervision.My approach combines deep clinical expertise with warmth, curiosity, authenticity and compassion. I aim to create supervision spaces that feel thoughtful, relational and restorative, while also offering robust trauma-informed understanding grounded in evidence-based practice and years of frontline experience. I draw from a range of therapeutic models including EMDR, Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), solution-focused approaches, mindfulness, and creative therapeutic interventions. Riders should be comfortable mounting and dismounting on their own and able to adjust basic equipment independently. Perfect for those ready to build toward more advanced riding with confidence and control.Our horses are sensitive, forward, English-trained horses.
