Power Yoga is a full body cardio-driven yoga, in other words, a real workout that maximizes health benefits. This type of yoga builds internal heat and strength, increases stamina and helps to develop flexibility, posture, and mental focus. Yin Yoga is based on ancient Chinese philosophies and Taoist principles, both of which believe there are pathways of Qi (i.e., energy) that runs through our bodies.Yin Yoga targets your deep connective tissues (e.g., fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones). This yoga is slower, slightly more meditative in nature which allows you to connect with both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Poses are held for a longer period of time than other traditional types of yoga, so this really helps you stretch and lengthen those tissues that you rarely use. Never fear, this yoga teaches you how to breathe through discomfort and focus on your inner thoughts. YinYasa Yoga is a hybrid of yang (active yoga) with yin (passive yoga). Class begins with Yin Yoga to build strength and overall mobility of the joints (e.g., hips and spine). Warmth and flow is attained by using fundamental yoga postures that connect the breath with mindful movements thereby potentially decreasing stress and tension. The class is finished using Yin Yoga which creates flexibility, mindfulness, and softness. This allows for the release of connective tissues, which creates space and integrity in the joints, resulting in a removal of blockages to internal energy flow.All levels of experience all welcome, we specialize in modification of poses for every individual.
