Our Bike Project, based in Hemel Hempstead, is a community-focused initiative dedicated to supporting individuals facing unemployment, homelessness, and low self-confidence. Through practical, hands-on training in bicycle repair and maintenance, the project equips participants with valuable technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and workplace experience that can open pathways into employment within the cycling industry and related sectors.At the heart of the project is a commitment to sustainability and social impact. Donated and unwanted bicycles are refurbished by trainees and then sold at affordable prices, making cycling more accessible to the local community. By promoting the reuse and recycling of bikes, Our Bike Project not only reduces environmental waste but also empowers individuals to rebuild their confidence, develop new skills, and move towards a more independent future.
