Tympanometry - Middle ear function test. Initial or repeat after treatment.

Is conducted to assess the function of the middle ear and identify possible pathology of the middle ear that may indicate a referral to an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist is necessary and/or a GP appointment for treatment.

Tympanometry can indicate issues such as - middle ear fluid, OME glue ear, negative middle ear pressure, eustachian tube dysfunction, tympanic membrane (ear drum mobility issues) and a number of other middle ear problems that may be asymptomatic and require further action.

It may be useful to have several middle ear function test over a period of time (pre and post treatment).

Work Place & Industrial hearing Tests

Baseline and Monitoring hearing assessments for staff/employees.

Otoscopic examination and pure tone air/bone conduction testings.

Results and Report emailed to employer.

A children’s Hearing test is usually a preliminary step in which a child’s hearing is checked to see if a more detailed evaluation or further diagnostic testing is necessary.

Conducted for children 2 years  to 18 years.

Please book here for a childrens initial hearing test, repeat hearing test (including tympanometry), pre and post surgery childrens hearing test.

The tests selected by your hearing practitioner will be the best suited for your child’s age, ability and their understanding of how to respond to each test. As well as your child’s overall individual needs and circumstances. 

Testing may include -

Otoscopic examination.

OAE automatic cochlea hearing screening each ear (pass/fail).

Tympanometry - middle ear function testing (pressure test).

SRTs - Speech Reception Thresholds.

Pure tone - Air conduction and/or bone conduction.

Discussion of test results and recommendation for further action discussed after testing on the day.

Copy of results will be given on the day and if you have a referral a copy and report sent to your referring doctor.
