1st time ever in an ice bath

So it took me a couple of attempts and I’m glad I stuck with it as once I was in and settled I could have stayed in for longer than I did. It was invigorating and best of all my sore hip seems so much better. I would definitely recommend to anyone. The environment was lovely

    First ice bath

Taking the plunge into an ice bath was a monumental step for me, considering my lifelong fear of water. From the moment I stepped in, I felt a sense of calm which was incredibly reassuring given my initial nerves. The advice beforehand were invaluable in preparing me for the experience, before I knew it 4 minutes had flown by. The feeling of accomplishment was palpable, amplified by the warmth of a complimentary hot drink awaiting me. The euphoria I felt afterwards was unmatched, prompting me to eagerly schedule my next session. I carnt wait to challenge myself again and continue pushing my boundaries.

Therapy for the body and the mind

I have tried both the barrel and the tub, initially just out of curiosity and more recently to help with significant muscle pain and inflammation. Beyond the immediate physical benefits of improved circulation and recovery, the most significant aspect for me was from a mental health perspective. Cold water therapy helped considerably with my low mood, anxiety and mental fog. From the very first dip there was a sense of self awareness and accomplishment simply by observing my body’s fight or flight response to the cold water, without reacting and instead focusing on calming myself down with breathing exercises. Cold water therapy is now part of my recovery and I would highly encourage anyone who’s interested or just curious to go for it! Absolutely nothing to lose!

    Definitely worth it

I am one of those who’s always cold so trying an ice bath was a scary new experience for me, and I must say I loved the benefits I felt right after. I went in attempting 1 min but stayed for 7 mins. My mind and body felt refreshed, and the muscle aches were gone. Felt the stress leave my body. Definitely going to brave it again and again!

    Alertness and mental health

I tried the ice baths for the first time this week and i immediately felt more alert and focused. I was more in tune with my body and how it felt during the workout following, feeling more aware of the movements my body was making. the mental health benefits are incredible aswell! i instantly felt on a high and remained that way for a good time after, the calming sense of the rooms washed away any sense of anxiety while in the baths too. it’s a perfect way to set up for training or just relieve some mental stress!

    Improves endurance and performance

I tried this for the first time before two workout classes this week and it has definitely improved my performance. As a woman going through menopause I struggle with joint aches and pains when training. Taking an ice bath prior to working out has meant that for the first time in around five years I have been able to train pain free and work harder for longer. I will definitely be making it a regular part of my training and recovery routine.

    Mental health benefits

I’ve used the barrel a few times and I was so surprised at how quickly I felt the mental benefits from it. Immediately after I had such a rush of endorphins and felt a sense of achievement that kept me on a high all day. I felt refreshed and energised for my sessions too! The rooms are decorated in a way to promote a clam mindset too, I can’t wait to make this a regular part of my training!

    Its The Future

As a fella of a certain age, you learn to live with aches & pains when regularly working out. After just 2 ice baths I feel 100 times better in both body & mind. I would highly recommend ice baths as part of your training routine.

    Doing the right thing

Starting with cold showers and feeling the mental benefits from them I wanted to make the next step. My training intensity has increased with running which definitely causes some soreness and niggles but after a long race recently, good recovery and a dip in the barrel had my legs feeling completely fine. It’s definitely a tool in my arsenal for keeping injury free and motivated. The rooms are calming and really make you feel relaxed, setting you up for your session or the day in the right way!

    Tub 1 review

Got in at 13 degrees, was very relaxing and felt fresh afterwards. Aiming to work my way down to <8 degrees.
