A pilgrimage with Imagine That LLC in partnership with Rise & Remember through George Floyd Square is a guided, community centered experience focused on remembrance, education, healing, and racial justice.These pilgrimages are designed to help visitors move beyond simply “seeing” the memorial site and instead engage with the history, humanity, and ongoing impact connected to the life and murder of George Floyd. A typical pilgrimage experience may include:Guided storytelling from community leaders, caretakers, artists, and residents directly connected to George Floyd SquareHistorical and cultural context surrounding the uprising, mutual aid efforts, and the global movement for racial justiceReflection at memorial spaces, murals, offerings, and preserved artifacts left by visitors from around the worldConversations centered on healing, accountability, community resilience, and social changeInteractive discussion tailored to the group’s background, profession, intentions, or learning goalsOpportunities for participants to ask questions, reflect, journal, pray, or engage in dialogue respectfullyEducation about the preservation work and community-led stewardship happening within the squareConnection to local Black-led organizing, art, culture, and community care initiativesThe experience is intentionally rooted in respect and reflection.
