Hi, I’m Shawn.I’m a certified educator, dyslexia interventionist and most importantly, a wife and mother of two elementary-aged children.For more than 20 years, I’ve served students from Pre-K through 8th grade in general education, special education, ESL, and structured literacy intervention. I’ve worked with struggling readers, multilingual learners, and children with learning differences who simply needed instruction delivered in a way that made sense to them.But my greatest perspective doesn’t just come from the classroom, it comes from being a mom.When it’s your own child who is frustrated with reading, avoiding books, or beginning to doubt themselves, it feels deeply personal. I understand the weight parents carry when they want to do what’s best for their child but aren’t sure what that looks like.That’s why I do this work.
