Hi, my name is Jonathan Rajkumar and I am a junior at Mission San Jose High School. High school and middle school are difficult to navigate and can be the source of confusion for many students as well as their parents. Therefore, I am offering assistance in any math up to Pre-Calculus, Biology, and History. Math has always been something that I have personally enjoyed throughout my childhood. In freshman year I took Algebra 2/Trig and got A’s both semesters before taking Pre-Calculus Honors in sophomore year and once again getting A’s. I have helped other students in math before, as I was a leader in a math support club in my middle school: Challenger. Not only this, but I also have a surplus of experience in working with younger children. Some of my experience includes over 100 hours of volunteering at the Lawrence Hall of Science in Cal Berkeley. My role at the Hall was that of a mentor to children ages 5-12 in various different summer camps. I believe that my experience in the Mission school system, my knowledge of the teachers, as well as my experience working with younger children are all integral in my guidance of new students. I also am very passionate about the sciences and hope to become a doctor someday. I took NGSS as a freshman and Biology Honors as a sophomore and got A’s in all semesters. I was able to help freshman in my Biology class not only with subject matter we were studying, but also in other subjects such as math and English. This year I am taking Chemistry Honors and AP Psychology and plan on taking AP Biology and AP Physics in my senior year. I have always been an above average test taker and this has definitely helped me in the standardized testing that high schoolers take. I scored a 1480 out of 1520 on the PSAT as a sophomore. I also took Elite SAT college prep over the summer and took the August SAT. As a result I have a thorough understanding of the requirements of the SAT and PSAT and the steps that need to be taken in order to score well on these tests. I have straight A’s in history and am taking APUSH this year with Mr. Belloti and consequently have a thorough understanding of how social science are done in Mission. I am willing to put in the time and effort to make your student succeed at Mission. I am a firm believer that with hard work and determination, any goal is attainable.

Hello, my name is Samantha Wang and I am currently a senior at Mission San Jose High School. I will be offering classes in Psychology as of right now. My goal is to help students learn and understand the course material. I took AP Psychology my junior year and received an A both semesters along with a 5 on the AP test. Additionally, I am applying to college as a psychology major. I have many years of experience working with kids. I have worked as a gymnastics coach, abacus teacher, and tennis coach. All of these have allowed me to work with a multitude of students with ages ranging from 3-15. I have worked as a gymnastics coach for three years, abacus for two, and tennis for one. Hello, my name is Amogh Ayalasomayajula and I am a senior at Mission San Jose High School. As students begin classes for the new school year it becomes increasingly important to understand what teachers are looking for and getting a head start. Therefore, I will be tutoring in all math levels up to PreCalculus, AP Statistics, AP Physics 1 and SAT Math to help give your students the boost they need. I have had a passion for math since elementary school competing on the school math olympiad team and many other individual competitions like AMC, Math Counts, and CAML. I have received multiple national honors and distinctions for these competitions qualified to late rounds and tournaments and now coach students for these competitions in mathematical critical thinking. In my freshman year summer I was attended summer courses at stanford for advanced mathematics covering topics focused on discrete mathematics and computational based algebra. I have taken Honors math courses since 7th grade receiving A’s in these and the Advanced Placement classes I tutor for. I have been tutoring my sister who is now in middle school along with many other students ranging from 6th grade to 11th graders so I am comfortable tutoring for a wide range of Math subjects. As I mainly focus on tutoring for high schoolers, I have kept most of my class resources with me. I am willing to share these resources with your students, many of which are usually similar to what the teachers still use in class now. I self studied for standardized SAT Tests scoring an 800 in the math section for the Subject 2 Math Test and the standard SAT Math section in my sophomore year. I use my prior resources to teach. I have helped multiple students store 800’s on these tests and would be more than happy to help your student as well. For all the topics I tutor in I use a very specific approach which I have improved over my 6+ years of tutoring. I find that most students have a solid understanding of the topic but are unable to translate that knowledge in the way the teacher or test assesses it. To aid with these, I use resources as similar as possible to the real thing to both understand what topics the student needs help and to improve the student’s proficiency in these topics. I will commit the time and effort it takes for my students to receive the maximum benefit of my classes. I always give optional extra resources for outside of classes so that students can have more practice. This allows me to also custom create each class for what the student needs and made each session as informationally dense as possible. I have coached at Olive Children, tutored at middle and high school AOK, mentored California Eagle Scout candidates as an Eagle Scout myself, and guided those working on the NASA THomas Edison Stem Award. Hello! My name is Danielle Hsieh, and I am a junior at Mission San Jose High School. I am passionate about helping students improve their academic performance and will be providing weekly one-on-one tutoring in algebra 1, geometry, and algebra 2/trigonometry. For the past two years, I have been working as a teacher’s assistant at an after school, working with elementary and middle school students in reading, writing, and math. On the side, I also teach ballet to 7 through 12-year-olds on the weekends. Through these tutoring and teaching positions, I have learned how to work with different age groups and which teaching methodologies work better than others. From elementary to high school, I have received A’s in all math subjects. I am currently taking honors precalculus and am planning on taking AP Calculus BC in my senior year. On the SAT, I earned a perfect score of 800 on the math section. Math is so critical to a student’s success because it is the most widely used subject in the world. Every career uses some sort of math, and to stay competitive in the 21st century, students must have a solid mathematics foundation. Hi! I am Ashmita Guha and currently a senior at MSJ! I will offering help in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2/Trig, and AP Psychology. I know what it takes to ensure success in these classes as I’ve received As in all semesters of all these courses. As a senior, I know these courses at mission have an inflated curriculum that can be hard to keep up with, and getting extra help is the first step in being successful in these rigorous courses. Hello, my name is Leslie Huang and I am a Mission San Jose High School alumna. I am currently enrolled in Ohlone College and will be attending USC during the next academic year.
