PsychotherapistMA (Oxon), BACP, BPCAboutAs a psychotherapist working in the NHS and in community settings, Timur has spent many hours with people who are struggling with personal and emotional problems including anxiety, persistent low mood, and low self-esteem. Timur offers treatment over the short or longer term, strongly believing that by entering therapy, we open up a channel which allows us to address aspects of our lives that we may have preferred not to talk about before, or even admit to ourselves.Timur has worked with people from very different backgrounds, and those who are struggling with a wide range of problems. He has worked with people who experience recurrent troubles in their relationships, as well as those who have difficulties with sex and intimacy, or with anger or frustration, or with aspects of the world or themselves or their families that they find hard to accept. Timur also has experience working with people who find themselves acting out damaging patterns of behaviour that they find difficult to stop, and those who are troubled by ways of thinking which bother them, and they which they don’t understand. By providing you with a space to talk freely, within a confidential and safe setting, Timur will help you come to terms with what you may find most painful, and haven’t always been able to deal with on our own.Clinical experienceAdult psychotherapist and group analyst, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy department, St Pancras Hospital, Camden and Islington NHS TrustPsychodynamic Psychotherapist, Integrated Psychological Therapies Team (IPTT) Lambeth, South London and the Maudsley NHS TrustPsychotherapist, Mid-Essex Specialist Mental Health Service, Essex Partnership University TrustPsychotherapist and Forensic Psychotherapist, Tavistock and Portman clinics, Tavistock and Portman NHS TrustQualifications & TrainingBA Hons and MA, Oxford University, English LiteratureMA, University of East Anglia, Creative WritingCertificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF)Foundations of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Tavistock ClinicForensic Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Portman ClinicLanguagesEnglishSpecialisationsDepressionAnxietyPanic disorderPost-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)Addiction, including substance addiction, and behavioural addictions (eg gambling, pornography)Relationship difficulties and sexual problemsProblems with low mood and/or mood swingsWork stress and performance anxietiesSleep difficulties and insomnia
