The Sail First Club is a non-profit, sailing club, and a great place to find like-minded people, who share your interest in sailing, here, in Cyprus’s warm and welcoming island.
We are passionate about the idea of enclosing different individuals, with different levels, from those with well enough to try, to those whose home was always at sea, under our sails to enjoy both our monthly and annual events.
Bringing the Passion of sailing and racing to all that want to see the world from the sea as they race and learn the pleasure of “Being First with Sail First ”
The main advantage of yachting is that there are no restrictions on age and gender. Everyone can try this beautiful sport and get an unforgettable experience.
In addition to developing physical skills, yachting helps to develop spatial thinking and the ability to think strategically. It is not for nothing that this sport is compared with a game of chess – the “pieces” at a distance “move” according to certain rules (on the one hand, dictated by the laws of physics, on the other hand, established by the International Sailing Federation).
A great way to develop new neural connections, pump yourself physically and intellectually, learn how to work smoothly in a team and get unforgettable experience.

The best way to learn how to sail is by practice. For younger children, aged 8-14, an Optimist is a perfect boat. This lightweight boat with one sail responds directly to the wind and rudder. Therefore, young sailors will almost automatically discover the basics of sailing. The younger you start sailing, the more easily you become familiar with the water. The Optimist is, quite simply, the dinghy in which the young people of the world learn to sail. Easily transported on top of any car, safe and simple enough for an 8-year-old, exciting and technical enough for a 15-year-old. Sailed in over 110 countries by over 150,000 young people, it is the only dinghy approved by the International Sailing Federation exclusively for sailors under 15 years of age.
