Nico Lehman
Nico grew up locally and graduated from the University of Florida with a major in Art in 2003. After college, she spent the next 15 years in New York City working in the film and television industry as an editor and producer for various networks including MTV, Bravo, and A&E. After her daughter was born, she moved right outside the city where vintage treasures prevailed. With one foot still in the entertainment world, Nico began collecting vintage designer pieces for her wardrobe, which led to the creation of her online shop, Nicouture Boutique. After editing work became remote, she and her family relocated to Florida in 2021. During her first year back, she was able to immerse herself in the local art scene where moving boxes became her medium, producing giant cigarettes and recycled footwear.
In the past year, she also began working with fabrics. Inspired by a past life regression and ancient Asian garments, Nico created her own Nico•Mono line of open jackets using locally thrifted fabrics.

Derek Gores
Derek Gores was born 1971 in New York. He received his BFA from The Rhode Island School of Design in 1993.
Derek Gores recycles magazines, maps, data and more in his lush portraits on canvas. The balance of detail and playfulness in each piece reveals Gores’ knack for discovery and for building seemingly endless puzzles into his works. Rearranging the scraps, he is able to form a sort of surrealist image, where from afar a nearly photo-realistic image comes into focus. However, as the viewer gets near, the small scraps reveal themselves to be other pictures, song lyrics, charts, patterns and more, and sweep your attention away down a new rabbit hole.
Gores exhibits with top galleries in Los Angeles, Paris, Quebec, New England, Miami, and more. He’s considered part of the New Contemporary Movement, playing in a post internet and post pop-art vista, letting the real, digital, and virtual worlds mingle. He builds on Dada and Surrealist ideas from the last century, especially enjoying the idea of “automatic” art and allowing chance and repetition in as part of the process. Gores counts among his clients and collectors: Prada, Hotel Bel-Air Beverly Hills, Heineken, Tag Heuer and more. Gores has had the honor of being the official Kentucky Derby Poster Artist, and was commissioned by Playboy to create their Hugh Hefner Tribute cover art. Gores’ work is inclusive and inviting, partly due to the humble disposable materials, and partly due to the artist’s drive to connect and let the viewer in.
Gores is a collaborator. He’s deeply invested in his home town Eau Gallie Arts District on the Space Coast of Florida, as well as in the larger global creative community, regularly engaging with blue chip brands, who value how Gores’ work engages the senses in a way words cannot. Derek was honored with his first museum solo exhibit, “Local Edition”, curated by Serene McGroarty, at the Foosaner Art Museum in Melbourne, Florida in 2018-2019.

2-Day Collage Workshop with Derek Gores
/// SATURDAY, AUGUST 17TH THRU SUNDAY, AUGUST 18TH 9AM-4PM \\\ Join Derek for a two-day workshop in collage, using recycled magazines and more. Truly No Experience Necessary. Collage has a wonderful history as a medium that takes your mind beyond the trappings of realism and linear thinking – and we will gladly continue the rule-breaking tradition.
We start with brief exercises introducing you to the concepts of collage, which build your skills and understanding for a longer project the second day. In this longer project, Derek will share his approach to what has become his signature style – while helping you honor your own direction.
Derek encourages you to consider a single object or simple still life. However, don’t feel like you must know what you’ll make before you come to Day 1. The journey of discovery is indeed the point. Along the way, Derek will assist you in opening your mind to the possibilities of new textures, meanings, and spatial depth in your work. He’ll demo and lead group discussion, which will include a touch of art history as well. Lunch from within the local Eau Gallie Arts District is included!
