Established in 1995 Metropolitan School of Bartending prides itself on helping people with little or no experience to get jobs that they love, in the hospitality industry.
At Metropolitan
you’ll find courses that deliver the knowledge and skills required for a
constantly changing industry so you can land your first bartending job.
Even if you have no knowledge or experience with alcohol, or any restaurant experience, our first-class team of instructors (Calgary’s finest mixologists and bartenders) will show you how to go from zero to pro bartender in 20 hours of class time.
We offer weekday, weeknight, or weekend classes that are all flexible, and will work with your busy schedule. Plus, we offer several additional 1 day seminars to dive deeper into related topics, Wine Tasting, Mixology, Martini and How to Set-up a Home Bar (More seminars to come...)

Rob Patenaude
Rob has spent a lifetime in customer service and hospitality. He started in restaurants in late 1985 and has continued ever since. His vast experience covers restaurants, nightclubs, pubs, banquets, catering, resorts, and hotels.
His experience is an asset to Metropolitan School of Bartending, as he strives to make the school as close to the real world experience as possible.
Rob has also spent over a decade in Sales & Marketing, so he has insight into how to read your guests needs, and what personality type they are. This is invaluable when identifying when to Upsell items, and when to offer discreet service.
