Woodmansterne Primary School are very pleased to announce that KS2 Cheerleading Club will be continuing next term. At cheer club, the athletes learn fun routines that are performed to music and feature stunting in small bubbles, floor gymnastics, dance and jumps whilst adhering to safe social distancing guidelines (please see attached notes). Children should wear either their PE kit or comfortable gym clothes (no zips/low cut tops/denim) with their hair tied back and trainers. Children should also bring a NAMED bottle of water. Athletes in Years 3-6 will meet every Thursday after school 15:30-16:30. Cheerleading Club will start on Thursday 13th January 2022 with the final session on Thursday 24th March 2022 (no session half term 17th February). Total cost for the 10 sessions will be £50.00.

Cheerleading Club will start on Wednesday 12th January 2022 with the final session on Wednesday 6th April 2022 (no session half term 16th February 2022). Total cost for the 12 sessions will be £60.00.

As Covid restrictions have lifted this has meant Unity Allstars are able to host the end of term School’s Cheerleading Competition again. We were so disappointed to not be able to run this event last term and can’t wait to see what the children have been learning in their school clubs. This is a great opportunity for your child to showcase their routines, a chance to represent their school and for parents to come and watch as well. The competition will be held on Wednesday 16th March from 3.45-6pm at the David Weir Leisure Centre. Schools/parents are invited to arrive at 3.45pm with the children in their school PE kit/ cheerleading uniform to warm up and get ready to compete. Doors will open at 4:45 for parents and spectators, and the competition will run from 5:00-6:00pm. Each school team will be given an opportunity to showcase their routines and then our judges will deliberate and award trophies to the teams they believe have performed the best. All participating children will receive a competition badge. The fee to enter the competition is £15 per child which includes 1 spectator ticket (additional spectator tickets cost £3 and will be available to buy on the door). Please note this is a standing event with limited seating.
