Wake County Clerk of Court - Estates Division

About the company

Welcome to the appointment scheduling website for the Estates Division of the Wake County Clerk of Superior Court. Due to our high volume of cases, appointments are encouraged to meet with a Clerk.    The first thing to do when handling a loved one’s affairs is to decide what kind of Estate to open. Depending on the situation and the total value of the property you are dealing with, there will be several options from which you can choose. To see what your options are, go to www.nccourts.org/Forms/Documents/735.pdf.   We also offer self-help packets for Decedent’s Estates. Simply send a blank email to Wake.Estates@nccourts.org to receive an automated response with more information.   Please note that we are not allowed to give you legal advice about your case. This means that we are not allowed to help you fill out any forms, and we cannot tell you which option you should choose when you open an Estate. If you have questions, you should contact an attorney licensed to practice in North Carolina. The North Carolina Bar Association offers a Lawyer Referral Service which you can access at https://www.ncbar.org/public-resources/lawyer-referral-service/.   If you simply need to file the required documents for your case, no appointment is needed. You may mail your documents, along with the proper filing fee, to:             Wake County Clerk of Superior Court            ATTN: Estates Division             P.O. Box 351             Raleigh, NC 27602             If you need to meet with a Clerk, please click on the green “Schedule Now” button above and follow the instructions. Once the calendar appears, click  the "Next Week" link until you find a day and time with availability.
