We are Tan on the Run! Tan on the Run is an organic mobile airbrush spray tanning service. We come to your home, pop up a tent, airbrush you with our organic tan mist and Voila! You're tanned! Convenient, mobile service right in your home. Normally we are in/out within 30 minutes. Just make sure you have an area ready for us to set up and lots of light.
Who are our clients? Well, anyone and everyone. We've tanned people who are going away on vacation, couples, individuals, girlfriends, boyfriends, tanning parties, celebrities, you name it- then there are those just want a pick-me-up, maybe a little colour or a lot- whatever you decide. Since bringing Tan on the Run to Ottawa in 2014 we have met so many wonderful people throughout Ottawa. We love what we do and are passionate about our product. Spray tanning has come a long way and you don't have to worry about being orange or streaky. We've all heard of 'the Ross episode' on Friends. Just stay away from those cheaper products and booths. This is where you don't want to skimp on your service, after-all you are putting this on your skin and you have to wear it for up to a 7-10 days so invest in a good product!    What sets Tan on the Run apart from other companies? Ultimately it has to be the best product to get the best results.  That's first and foremost.  This, coupled with professional and trained service technicians makes us the best choice.
How do we have the best product? Well we've had time to perfect it. Tan on the Run was the FIRST mobile tanning company in Canada when it was established in 2006 and now we have over 40 franchisees across Canada and overseas. Our CEO and founder Nicole Hyatt also brought her business to Dragon's Den and was offered a deal, but with time to think she turned them down and hasn't looked back! Over time Nikki has perfected and tweaked our tanning solution.
Our exclusive solution is organic, vegan, paraben-free, not tested on animals, chemical-free, high pigment concentration (not watered down like booth spray formulas) and actually good for your skin with our aloe-based formula. With our solution you can choose light, dark and everything in-between. We even have our newest Express Tan which is by far the most popular. This allows you to shower from 2-5 hours after your application with the same amazing results! We also have our own unique application technique and top of the line airbrush equipment for a seamless application. Airbrushing by hand provides the best results because we can customized your application to your preferences and go over those areas that you want maybe a little more coverage.
FAQs
Where do you set up in my home?All we ask is that you have a well lit (very important) area for us to set up our tent which is approximately 4X4 and 7 ft high and an outlet.
How does it Work? The active ingredient DHA (beet extract) ,  reacts naturally with your own skin to develop your colour. You must exfoliate the day before your tan to remove excess flaky skin to allow the product to adhere to your skin and develop properly
What to wear? Many choose to wear nothing at all- you are in the privacy of your home so as long as you are comfortable (men must wear bottoms)Some clients wear just bottoms and or a bra or a bikini or tank top and bottoms.
Will the tan get on my clothes? If you choose to wear some clothing during the service please be aware that we cannot guarantee that the solution will wash off so choose something black or dark colour. After you shower (approx 10-12 hours after application) the tan will NOT wear on your clothes. We have many bridal tans who enjoy their tan on their special day without the worry of product going on their clothes. For brides we recommend having at least 2 showers so 2 days before your big day.
How long will my tan last? Your tan will last as long as a regular tan- It can last up to 7-10 with proper prep and aftercare gradually getting lighter each day. Our product has a gradual wear off so it will fade lighter each day instead of coming off blotchy like some of our competitors.
What do I have to do to prepare for my tan? Wax or Shave and Exfoliate really well the day before your appointment or a minimum of 8 hours before and do NOT shower right before your appointment. Shower a minimum of 6 hours before or the night before (if morning appointment) your appointment. Do not apply moisturizer or creams on your skin- skin must be clean and dry for product to 'stick' . This also means skin cannot have perspiration. Crank up the A/C for hot days.**Make sure your shower gel does not have built-in moisturizer- use a regular gentle shower gel
Manicures/PedicuresManis and pedis must be done at least the day BEFORE your tan. Having this done on the same day before your application will leave oils and lotions on your skin and your pores may be open causing a speckled application. If you have after your application your tan will be lightened and exfoliated off.

After your Tan? This is the most restrictive time but if you follow the instructions you will be able to enjoy your tan. Do NOT shower or get water on your skin or wash your hands for up to 10 hours while your tan is developing.   Do not work out or perspire. Even though your skin will be dry to the touch- do not touch your skin until the 10 hours is up. This is why we normally do applications in the evening- so you can get tanned and just sleep while your tan develops and just shower in the morning. By this time your tan will have fully developed (minimum 8 hours) and just enjoy!  **Our newer Express Tan formula allows you to shower 2- 5 hours after application- great for daytime bookings! 2 hours for light, 3 hours medium and 5 hours for dark
To Maintain Your Tan:Do not use any exfoliants or harsh shower gels or soaps. Do not use Dove soap (has been shown to lighten tans quicker) Use other gentle shower gels (not bar soap) and hands only- no facecloths.
Shower in lukewarm water.Pat your skin dry after each shower instead of rubbing dry- Air dry is bestMoisturize at least once or twice a day and keep hydrated from the inside out by drinking your daily waters.
