About the company
Hi, I'm Fred! I've been tying, performing, educating, and organizing in the Philly kink scene for over eight years. I have a passion for rope education that is accessible, trauma informed, and flexible to the needs of a wide variety of skill levels. My goal is to teach those who are responsible, consent oriented, and enthusiastic about learning how to tie.

In your message, please be sure to include any and all references for vetting. All payment is accepted via Venmo and Cashapp @fredbat92. No booking is final until it has been accepted by me and a deposit has been made. All deposits are non-refundable, but can be used towards rescheduling if you need to cancel. Class location will be sent upon booking confirmation.

Welcome to Rope 101! This is the perfect class for you if you've just picked up rope for the first time and want to learn basic ties. In this class you'll get hands on instruction for all of your beginner rigger needs. We'll go over safety, common terms, rope handling techniques, fundamental ties and knots, and start to work out how to create satisfying scenes on the ground. While you are more than welcome to come to my studio to learn in person, this class is also available via zoom/google meet if you'd rather learn from the comfort of your own home!

Suspension 101
This class is for riggers who are ready to take their skills to the air! In this class you will learn how to suspend safely and efficiently using uplines and lock-offs, how to assess hard points, what makes a harness safe for suspension, and other basic tips and tricks. This class is solely for those who have been tying competently on the ground for some time and have an understanding and familiarity of basic harnesses and rope safety. This class requires you to bring a tying partner who is comfortable being suspended and aware of the risks involved therein. Due to the inherent risk involved in suspension, this class can only be taught in person at my studio. Address given upon booking.

This class is for those advanced riggers who have a firm grasp of suspension, know how to tie multiple harnesses, and are deeply aware of the inherent safety risks of putting someone in the air. This is a great opportunity to learn those suspension techniques that are more sadistic, dynamic, and "flashy" for performance purposes or otherwise. This class will heavily feature discussions around safety, RACK, and what to do in case something goes wrong. Risky rope can mean different things for different riggers, so please make sure to message me before booking on Instagram @yourunclefred or email me at fredbat92@gmail.com with details about what you're looking for specifically. A tying partner is required for this class. This class can only be taken in person.
