Review Form & Assessment Advocacy
Everybody at Pipp was extremely helpful and I would especially like to thank Tammi (for my review form) and Jen (for the assessment advocacy) for their expert knowledge and friendly support throughout.

Fierce Advocacy
Had an absolute nightmare. Capita called and had not dialled my advocate in. Had to tell her who it was and what her number was. Got Jen (PIPPS advocate) on the line, the woman then said she was going to open the form and start. The form was blank. My form has 129 different points on it. So she then said we could go ahead without the form and I could just tell her what was on it. Obviously Jen was not having that, and rightly so. Then they both started talking across each other, and Capita woman kept asking of that was OK. In the end, I had to stop them both talking so I could go over what had happened and try to find a solution. By this point I was on the edge of a full blown panic attack, and was taking breaths between every third or fourth word. I offered to email the completed form to her, she said no. She said that when this happens, everyone else just goes ahead with the assessment. I'd set my head that by this afternoon it would be done, but I'm not an idiot so I said I wouldn't go ahead without it. She then said that she could give me the DWP number so I could actually upload the form this time. I told her about the conversation I had with the DWP and that the woman had said she was looking at my form. She didn't care. She said that I had to ring them. She then tried to tell me that the assessors read the forms ahead of the call. I asked why she didn't already know that the form she had was blank. She got very defensive and tried to give me the DWP number again, told me to "speak more nicely" as I was being aggressive (I was struggling to breathe) and that it wasn't her fault. I told her that if the DWP hadn't sent her the tools to do the job, that was between Capita and the DWP. EVENTUALLY she said she'd speak to her manager and that I should wait for them to get back in touch. I still maintain that it was not down to me to line manage at the DWP. When the phone all finished, I was in bits. So I was having a cuddle with Phil. The phone went again, and I missed the call. It was CAPITA. So I rang back and got a call centre. After being put on hold, turns out that this woman had gone to ring her next client and had dialled my number by mistake. I am going to call the DWP but I'm going to rest for a bit. Nothing like structural incompetence to remind you just how disabled you are.

Appeal, Form filling & assessment advocacy
Back in April/May of 2024, I engaged PIPPS to help with a PIP appeal. Cat helped at every stage, was on the appeal video call with me through the hearing. This resulted in Standard Daily living being awarded, backdated almost 3 years, running out on Feb 28th 2025. Cat helped put me in the mindset of the tribunal panel & supported all the way through, making me feel not quite so apprehensive.

Wonderful Advocate
Just finished an epic 3 hour phone assessment for my PIP claim, and wanted to make sure everyone knows how wonderful Charlene was as my Advocate on the call. The assessor was lovely, allowing Charlene to interact with us during the call & it really put my mind at ease having her on my side for this, along with my husband at home with me.

Zoom meeting with Teresa
I had a zoom meeting with Teresa today, who was very kind, understanding and asked all of the right questions to get a clear view of my daughter’s needs for her PIP application. It feels like a weight has been lifted and that she really does want what’s best for us. Thanks Teresa ????????
